DH and I were just having a conversation since we recently saw Pulp Fiction again. We both love the scene where John Travolta and Uma Thurman enter the dance contest and do the twist. John Travolta just has a natural rhythm to his moves regardless of what kind of dance he's doing. DH, on the other hand, has NO rhythm AT ALL. It's really almost comical watching him try to dance as it looks almost painful (think Elaine Benis from Seinfeld). I LOVE to dance but don't get much opportunity any more and I just realized how much I miss it. Such a fun release!

So..............how 'bout you guys? Can you cut a rug?:smooth:

You bet I can! My DH on the other hand.........two left feet!:o We used to go out to the clubs (where we met) but alas, he won't go anymore. It is no fun dancing by yourself - so I just dream about it!:teeth:

I'm not good at it, but I do dance by myself to the radio sometimes. DH has NEVER danced in his entire life (at least I really don't think he has) and I'm sure he never will.

I actually think he'd look pretty weird dancing.:p

Yes, yes, yes! I dance around the house, I dance at work, I dance constantly...I'm the first one up when we go out, dance at my table, at our booth, at the bar, ON the bar, wherever I am. I think it stems from DH being a club DJ.. there's always booty or techno music playing in our house/car.

I'll cha-cha into the kitchen, do the merengue while making sandwiches, charleston in the bathroom, etc. I'll jump behind people in a line and do the conga just to get a laugh. If DH is on the couch watching TV, I'll do something silly like the MC Hammer or the running man to get his attention. Clint thinks I've lost my mind.

I'm going to start taking classes on Sunday nights at a local place to learn all types of Latin dances.. I'm excited about it!

yes and no one knows it but me that I could do it good

tiggersmom2: I know exactly what you mean. I haven't done it in so long now, I don't know if I even remember how:rolleyes:
grinninghost: WOW! NEVER danced??????? He doesn't know what he's missing, now does he?
MScott: You sound like a LOT of fun. We just tonight drove by a dance studio (which actually prompted our dance conversation) and saw couples in there dancing. I always thought I'd love to learn classic ballroom, but Latin sounds like more fun! Is your DH taking the classes with you?
Pop Daddy: So you're a closet dancer, huh?:p

I like to dance, but it looks more like a dry heave set to music than actual dancing. :teeth:

we dance the same

My children have requested that I do not dance, not even in my own home, with the blinds closed. They find it very embaressing. especially when I do my impression of Elaine from Seinfeld. :teeth:

I love to dance, DBF loves to dance even more! We go out to the "family" clubs maybe 1-2 times a month. Have a blast, get blasted, dance like crazy. We had a pretty wild weekend last weekend. Stayed out 'till 3:30am, dancing. I was scheduled for work at 2pm the following day - yep, didn't make it 'till 7pm.

I don't dance because I can't, but I wish I could. :(

(I also wish I could sing, but I can't carry a tune.)

I love to dance, but I don't have a SO to dance with! So I dance with my nieces, Samantha & Dana. They LOVE the way I dance, so that's good enough for me.

I think I came into this world dancing.

As a kid I spent hours dancing to records my Mom would put on for me. Then I took lesson as a kid. In high school I joined the Dance Club. I took lessons again as an adult (jazz and tap), even dancing in recitals. I'll often dance just for exercise, sort of modern style. Get me to a club or a party and watch out!

Strange thing is both my parents NEVER danced, didn't like it, didn't want to do it. Most of my Mom's relatives don't dance either. Only exceptions are two young cousins who are very good dancers and took lessons since they were toddlers. Apparently my paternal GP's did like to dance too.

I am not a very good dancer! But I dance anyway! So what if I look silly! I did the Chicken Dance in the middle of Pleasure Island once! Amazing how little you care what others think after a couple of good drinks! ;) Obviously I didn't drink enough to forget the fact I did that.

Jodi :D

Love To Dance!!

I tell people all the time that I married my DH because he was the first boyfriend I ever had who would dance with me!

JOSH!!! We have GOT to get together this next weekend! I think you guys are going to overlap us by one day...

P.S. I constantly drag DH to family clubs with me...no pun intended...

DH and I love to dance. We used to really enjoy Pleasure Island a few years back....it's changed too much for us now. The Orchid Room at Church Street Station was another of our favorites as well as Phineas Fogg. We're gonna have to find a new spot! ::yes::

DH doesn't dance but I often dance around the house when I'm alone. Sometimes I get caught. :o
