Do you like the Cat. 10 rooms?

I have 'thought' about getting a Cat. 10 room. We have always been in a Cat. 11 in the past.

The Cat. 10 rooms seems so far away from everything (except the secret porthole rooms, but those are already taken).

So could those of you who have used them, and have kids who like to be on deck 9 for the pool a lot, tell me how the Cat. 10 worked out for you? Did you like it?

Just thought we might try something new....but the location of the Cat. 11s seem so much better. But it would be nice to have a little bit bigger room.

Dec 31st last year we booked our cat 10 for our Nov 30th cruise on deck 2 (I had Dave's list of rooms not to get/too noisy). I asked for deck 5-taken, deck 7-taken so I booked deck 2. I wanted the split bath.
However, a few months ago I was able to switch to a spr!!

Personally we like the cat. 10 rooms. The double bathroom is great. Last cruise we were in a cat. 10 on the second deck, very near the mid ship elevators and stairs. So it was a very quick walk to dining, shopping and theaters and to exit the ship at port. We have no children so convenience to decks with childrens areas did not matter. It is kind of far from pools though.

We stayed in 2131 and liked it for the following reasons. Very quite, some noise in the morning, but nothing that bothered us. Close to Aft elevators, so short trip to Topsiders. 2 short flights up, taking the stairs, to deck 4 and a view of where ever we are (were) LOL. Almost no hallway noise. We have booked a veranda cabin next year for one main reason, my DH and I both smoke. And it was a pain to get dressed, and go on deck for an early morning or late night smoke. Hope this helps.

We were on the 9/28 "Western" cruise (although we never saw the west). We had a Cat. 10 on deck 2 and were very pleased with it. We found it quiet, roomy, and the lack of window made it feel very private and cozy, IMO. There was no problem getting anywhere; although we don't have kids we did spend a lot of time at the pool and I never noticed it being inconvenient getting from one to the other.

Although I'd someday like to have a veranda room, in the meantime I'd be very happy with a Cat. 10 and would do it again in a heartbeat. We didn't miss the window at all, and in fact found it quite nice to sleep to whatever time we liked and it was dark.

One hint, though: it is VERY dark, and we found the closet at the front of the room has a light that turns on automatically when you slide open the door. We'd leave it cracked a few inches at night so we had a "nightlight" at the front of the room--great for those times you need to get to the bathroom, but not so bright it bothers you across the room in the bed.

We just back from the 10/6 Wonder and had two adjoining cat 10 rooms. We thought they were great! From some of the comments I had read on these boards, I thought the rooms must be closets, but we had plenty of room to stretch out.
As for the rooms being far from things, I guess I just don't get it. While we were aft on deck two, so it was a quick elevator ride to the mickey pool, I didn't think it was far to get anywhere on the ship. Compared to a traditional land vacation, everything is sooo conviently close on the ship!
Also liked the split bathrooms in the cat.10. Have fun whatever you decide!
