Do you Like Starbucks??

I think they over-roast their beans. The brewed coffee is bitter and nasty. The espresso drinks are ok, but expensive. If I'm going to spend that much on a treat, I'd much rather spend my money at the locally owned coffee shops and only do Starbucks when there is nothing else available. You do have to order carefully to avoid a big fat calorie bomb. I'm a tall skinny latte with 2 splendas. Grande in Starbucks terms.

I make imitation lattes at home. I brew double strength coffee, and then add fat-free half and half and and splenda or sugar-free syrups from World Market. English Toffee is my absolute favorite!

I bought a "latte whisk" from Bed Bath and Beyond to foam my milk at home, but I'm having trouble finding the syrups. My parents' grocery store only had hazelnut (yuck) and vanilla. Are the bottles at World Market 750 mL or the smaller ones? I'd love to have caramel...french vanilla...peanut butter....white chocolate...chocolate...peppermint...butterscotch...gingerbread.... I have a slight addiction to flavor!

I never went to Starbuck's until I came to UB where there is one on campus. Now I make it there at least once a week, but more recently twice in one day! My "usual" is a non-fat venti iced caramel macchiato, but if I'm feeling something hot I go for a vanilla latte or cinnamon dolce latte. And let's hear the love for the "reduced fat" cinnamon swirl coffee cake!

I voted for NO, there is a Starbucks that just opened up here in town and I bought my first cup this morning and I don't get the hype.....too too strong and cuts my tastebuds in a wierd way.

I adore Starbucks. They have good tea and it's a great place to relax. Plus only the fancy drinks are expensive, the regular teas (and coffee) are reasonable.

Some are fruity flavors more suited to Italian ices but lots of good flavors for coffee too. I currently have Almond and English Toffee open at home. Try adding a swig to hot chocolate too!

I'm a Starbucks fiend! My SIL works there so I'm always getting discounts on coffee and accessories. I got my coffee mug that I drink out of everyday and my awesome travel mug from there.

Sweet! I know what I'm getting as soon as I get home! (Of course, once I get there, I'm back in coffee heaven and don't need to make my own as much!) I've actually had some fruity flavors in regular lattes - cherry and peppermint as a "candy cane" - and thought they were delicious. The people at Dunkin stare at me like I'm crazy if I ask to mix syrups; my baristas in Washington love to mix!
