I have had to give up listening to all the Disney stations on Live365, 'cuz frankly my mind was wandering all over the place and I couldn't get any work done.....so, I'm back to my old standby: KPLU . org

A former co-worker, whose brother lives in Seattle, told me about it and it's just the best. Very soothing, work friendly music.

Just had to share...............

Jazz is a pretty broad description. I like (and play) most forms of jazz, but the stuff that's way out there has no appeal. To me, it's nothing more than making noise.

I always put the smooth jazz station on the tv to fall asleep to. :goodvibes

I love smooth jazz or "contemporary jazz" as they like to call it. :rockband:

:)

It would be great if all jazz fans could make a donation to the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, which has treated many jazz musicians who could not otherwise have afforded treatment. The clinic fully intends to reopen to continue their important work as soon as possible. You can make a cash donation or purchase their "Get You A Healing" CD with the link in my signature below. Please help, this clinic is staffed by volunteers from the medical community, and almost 100% of donations goes directly towards the care of patients.

Thank you for posting all those links. :goodvibes

Love jazz except the smooth jazz variety. Kenny G should be ashamed of himself. :smooth:

'It's the lest I can do. BTW--BUY THE CD! It's great! You won't be disappointed. Some big names, and everyone of them donated their talent.

One of the founders is looking forward to getting the clinic back up and running asap--I got that firsthand!

I just posted a release from Bethany Bultman, Outreach Chair for the NO Musicians Clinic HERE

They are working hard to assist the many musicians of NOLA who lost homes, instruments, and more during Katrina. Please consider making a donation. Thanks!

BTW--The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is planning on holding Jazzfest in 2006!

I could use a few ideas of good artists, my entry into jazz was a Harry Connick Jr cd

Did you know you could major in jazz studies? DS is, so I like jazz-I have to. Jazz artists-Louis Armstrong, Jelly Rolls Morton (hence the name Jellyrolls),Miles Davis, Chick Correa, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and Thelonious Monk are all leaders in jazz.

I like jazz/ blues music when it has vocals to it. I don't really care for the instrumental type.

Same here. I like jazz-swing. My favorite is Lavay Smith. She has a great voice.
