We usually fly out between 7 & 8 AM on the way down and fly out of Orlando between 4 and 7 PM.

We like noon to early evening. Don't like a rushed feeling on vacation. Gives me a little time to relax have coffee and shake my muddled brain. Puts me in a better mood too. ;)

Before we had kids we liked the earliest flight out. After dragging toddlers/preschoolers to the airport at 4am, getting to WDW by 9am, then all 4 of us so cranky we all had to take an afternoon nap, we soon realized it's better to take a later morning flight.
Then it felt like we missed 1/2 the day for travelling. Now that kids are 10 & 7 and can stay awake much later at night, we like a later flight after school/work. It's so much easier to head down Fri. night instead of Sat. am.
We've gotten great airport hotel rates from Priceline and Hotwire and it's so easy to crash close to MCO and wake up ready to start our vacation.
Going home we like an early afternoon flight home so we can unwind a little before returning to work/school.
It works for us! :goodvibes

We generally try to fly between 7-9am and generally leave about 12-4pm.

My ideal flight time is 9 to 10 am. I once took a 7am flight out of Manchester NH. I had to leave the house at 4:15 to get there in time. I was taking just my DS so we stayed at our friend's house that was traveling with us so we wouldn't wake those staying home. I didn't sleep at all that night because I was anxious about leaving so early. It was a whirlwind 3 night trip and I've got to say I was exhausted the entire trip!

Rise and Shine.....
the early bird gets the worm....

I enjoy going early. The first day I head to the outlets and then to downtown disney.

I used to like the earliest flight possible but now you have to get to the airport so early I prefer a 9 or 10 am flight. I still like to fly home as late as possible though.:thumbsup2

I like getting to Orlando early so we usually take a flight that leaves between 7 and 8:30 a.m On the way back I would prefer leaving mid to late afternoon but since the non-stop flights from MCO to our airport generally leave between 6 and 8 pm we usually take that flight because non-stop is more important to me than arrival time.::MinnieMo

If there are delays and/or flight cancellations, we have a better chance of picking up some other flight during the day if we are scheduled on an early flight.

At our home airport, the earliest flights are out-station flights which must connect to a hub before going to MCO; these usally leave around 6 to 7am. These are usually cheaper than the major carrier but require a connection. Security lines are practically non-existent for these flights.

Our major carrier flies non-stop and leaves a little later in the morning during the carrier's 1st hub-turn of the day (maybe around 9:30); this 1st non-stop flight would be my choice as far as schedules go. Frontier Airline just added flights to our airport and have non-stop to MCO but I haven't checked their schedule yet.

If it's just me flying, I go to work (the airport) with my carry on and wait for an available seat. It's almost like lotto... no idea when my number will be called but when it is I am 2 minutes from the gate and already through security. Best of all, I can take the earliest flight home and already be at the office!

When we go east on vacation as a family, we always take one of the first 3 flights out in the morning as we have to cross the country. They all leave within a few minutes of one another. On our upcoming trip to WDW, all the freebie seats were booked for the eeeeearly flights, so we're taking off about 8:30am. A two hour layover in Dallas for lunch and stretching and we'll be in Orlando just after 7pm. Ideally we like to arrive at 5pm but crap happens, yanno? I like a mid to late afternoon flight on the way home. Gives time for last minute things on the last day and gets us home at a reasonable time in the early evening..

We love the red-eyes!:lmao:

We are all pretty much night owls! We always close the parks down and then go back to the hotel to swim, because it is so hot in Aug., but that means we never make early entry!:rotfl:

We tried flying mid-morning before, but we lost the whole day flying from OR.

And of course, we take the latest flight back home, because we don't want to waist a minute of our vacation!

We take the earliest flight down and the latest flight home

Us too! This time, we're leaving Baltimore around 6:30am, arriving in Orlando at 8:50am -- we should be at the MK only a couple of hours after opening! Coming home, we're taking an 8:50pm flight, so we can have almost one more entire park day! I feel like we wait a long time for these trips (once a year just isn't enough!) and we like to maximize our time.

We prefer to take the early flight to WDW. Newark is our home airport and it seems the later in the morning the flight is the longer you sit waiting to take off. The last 2 times we took a later morning early afternoon flight there was a line of about 20-25 to wait for take off.

If I'm traveling solo, then I get up at 3 am, to get to Logan for a 7:00 flight. But if I'm traveling with my dh and dd, we try to fly around 9ish if at all possible. When flying home, I try to get a flight out at about 11:00. I hate flying in, or out of, MCO in the afternoon, especially from May-Nov..those late afternoon storms are killers on flight departures. I've even had bad weather in Boston hold me up in Orlando for a 6:00ish flight!!! So, I just add an extra night at the end, then I'm home mid-afternoon and can get all settled in.
