Than may I recommend Bush's Homestyle Chili, it is from the same people who make Bush's baked beans and it is very good.
I like my chili over rice so I got a package of Zatarains ready-to-serve white rice to go with it. Yummy, yummy ::yes::

Yum-I love Bush's baked beans. My mom makes the best chili though---I don't know if Bush's can top hers!!

I know this sounds weird, but I think the best chili is the kind that is spicy yet sweet!! Does that make sense??

Karen

Oh I agree nothing beats MOMs ::yes:: But my husband won't eat chili and now that I can get a small jar at the store, I can have it when ever I want. :teeth:

Spicy and sweet? :scratchin
I like spicy, but not sweet.

Yep, it does! My favorite chili recipe has a certain amount of chocolate and brown sugar in it.

Anything containing chocolate would be yummy!!

We are having the EXACT same thing for Dinner tonight!;) Including the white rice, only this is Jasmine rice by Mahatma.:p

I've been wanting to try Bush's new chili. It's not that kind of chili with huge chunks of stuff in it, is it? Chili with huge chunks of stuff in it is a travesty and should be outlawed, or called what it is....spaghetti sauce :teeth:

No huge chunks. If I hadn't read that there is meat in it, I would have never known, and you can get it without beans if you prefer it that way. (The beans are pinto and red kidney)

KarenB......my chili is VERY hot and spicy, but sweet, too! ::yes:: DH thought I was nuts the first time he found out I was putting brown sugar in the chili. Said it would RUIN it! What he didn't realize was that the sugar had been going in the recipe all along....the recipe he adores! :teeth:

I bought the Bush's chili today. 1 can with beans 1 can without beans. I have not tried it yet though. I hope its good. Call me crazy but I love Wendys chili when its not watered down.

I have never tried canned chili-I make my own and have never tasted baked beans before. I prefer my chili to be very spicy so I add in extra chili spice or tobasco to my chili.

Chili is one of my family's favorite meals that I prepare. It has kidney and pinto beans and a can of cut up stewed tomatoes. I also add a squirt of ketchup for sweetness (DH always says "ewwww", but loves the outcome). And lots of chili and red pepper powder to make it spicy. One can of tomato sauce for substance and lean ground beef. Anyway, my homemade chili with a batch of corn bread is pretty hard to beat around here :)

We add fresh chopped sweet Valdalia onions, grated cheddar cheese and a dallop of low fat sour cream to our bowl of red. Never heard of rice with it, is that a territorial thing?

Hummm. Now I am getting hungry:)

Comes in a jar, and its pretty darn good for Jar stuff!::yes:: :p

I LOVE chili! I bought a jar of the Bush's but haven't tried it yet. Guess I'll have it for lunch one day this week. :teeth:

Can not agree with you all on the rave review of Bush's new chili. Found it to be too watered down and even with a ton of Tobasco, still was not as good as the chili at Roaring Forks Cafe at WL.

Although it seems that the chili at RFC is a little less hot compared to what it was years ago, it still puts a sweat on my forehead before I put some hot stuff on it.

Guess those that don't like large chunks of ground beef won't like it though.

John

I've never bought chili only made it homemade. I LOVE it!!! Nice and spicy, yum!!

I have it over white rice. I've also had it for lunch with saltine crackers.

Try serving it over a hot baked potato - oh my goodness it is good!
