Do you like buffets?

Oh that's just not right. Kinda reminds me of the little girl I saw at Target a couple weeks ago who thought it was a good idea to lick her fingers and then put them on the Icee machine...

This is exactly what I saw adults do the last time we ate at a buffet. I saw multiple people load food on their plates, grab a piece of food, start eating it, lick their fingers, and then go to another part of the buffet to continue loading their plate. Unbelievably gross not to mention the fact that they were so starved that they couldn't wait to start eating that they felt compelled to start eating right then and there?? :confused3 Apparently basic common sense was not being served that night on the buffet. :sad2:

When you have three hungry kids to feed a buffet is a lifesaver. Dh and I still go to a chinese food one once in a while because they also have dim sum on it. I wish people would teach their kids to keep their fingers out though!

Yuk! I haven't gone to one in a very long time- they all just seem gross to me. The very last time we went a little boy was standing behind his mom in the line with his hands down his pants. When he finished playing down there he proceeded to touch all the food as he went along- BLEACH!

I like a good buffet -- especially something like Boma. We have a couple of restaurants in nearby towns that have Disney quality buffets. I do try to avoid cheap or chain buffets (like Ponderosa or Golden Corral) for the reasons people have mentioned. I just haven't seen that kind of gross behavior at the nicer ones near us. Thankfully!

I love buffets, but where I live I look up their health violations online. It really depends on what their record looks like.

I was surprised to see that my favorite Chinese buffet place down the road had 3 critical violations within the past month, like the health inspector witnessed a worker tasting the food from a serving spoon. :scared:

Is that a website unique to your area or do all states have them? I'm curious to see ours!

We rarely go to a buffet. The temptation to over eat is just too great.

I love buffets, but df doesn't so we don't go to many. The only one I can drag him to around here is the Carving Station.

No :scared:. I'd rather sit and have the food brought to me. The only buffet where I've actually enjoyed the food was at Boma.

I do not mind them especially at brunch when you can score a lb of bacon:thumbsup2 At dinner I prefer to be waited on.

We love buffets. There's a Japanese buffet down the street and it is FABULOUS!

Nope. I can't get past the unsanitary practices of others. :crazy2:

I was at the grocery yesterday and they have a salad bar and hot food area. This woman was letting her kids run their hands over everything and stick their head under the sneeze guard to look at the food. It was gross.

This is exactly why I avoid buffets.

As long as you have to take a clean plate when going to to the food, then I'm pretty okay with them. I only like breakfast buffets, and I"m not a fan of dinner buffets - I can't say why:confused3

I adooooore buffets!! Buffets rock!!! I couldnt survive on holiday (vacation to u Americans hehe lol) without buffet restaurants!!
I looove the Sizzler in Orlando (the one in LBV is THE best) and the Golden Corrall in Kissimmee....

mmm buffet....

omg im hungry now lol

D.

Don't usually choose them although I do enjoy a saturday morning breakfast buffet now and again.

I like them because we can all get what we want so easily. I know that some people are nasty and some questionable things might go on in the kitchen (but that could be true even in full-serve establishments) but I still enjoy them.

We try to always eat at Boma and Trail's End when we visit WDW. I love a good Chinese buffet too.

god yes china buffets how could i forget those!?! i tell ya starting a thread on buffets is fatal!!!...

food glorious food, hot sausage and mustard... lalala

lmao

NO NO NO...witnessed too many gross things at buffets to consider dining at one.
They are the devil's foodcourt.

NO..

I am always on the lookout for disgusting things :scared:
I usually get a huge headache (msg?)
I don't eat enough to validate it.

I don't go out that often, so when I do, I enjoy being served.
