Geez I am really surprised by this poll, and now I am feeling kinda vain. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: GH! Dork on pause!! That just has me rolling this morning.....and unfortunately, in far too many pictures, is me as well. :p

However, I don't mind having my photo taken and here is why: I had an aunt who absolutely refused to have her photo taken after she hit 30. She thought she was old, or fat, or whatever. She died about 8 years ago, and we discovered that no one in the family had a photo of her from the time she was in her early 20's (and even those were few and far between). Her children had no photos to pass down to their kids and on down the line. That is very sad to me, and seems a bit vain in the large scheme of things. So I smile for the camera and hope for the best, and those few where I don't look like a dork on pause, I frame proudly. :teeth:

Why (looks nervously over her shoulder)? Do you have a telephoto lens??
I'd like an 8 x 10 of me in my pirate outfit! :teeth:

I'm a little surprised by the overwhelming negative vote. I don't mind having my photo taken at all. In fact, since I tend to be the photographer of the family, I try my best to make sure that I get in at least a few photos at parties and on vacation. I hate showing vacation pictures and not being in any. Looks like I wasn't there. Fortunately, DD is old enough now that she can take the camera and snap a few of me and DW.

not that I LOVE having my picture taken -
I am just annoyed that it is never taken -
I scrapbook and there are a lot of places it looks like the family went without me other than the pictures taken by staff!

Ok, here's my theory on why many people don't like their picture take. Most say they don't look good in pictures (especially those caught in the "candid camera" fashion) as the reason they don't like their picture taken.

For the most part, the only image we see (or have) of ourselves is what we see in a mirror. That's not how we look to others. We see a mirror image of ourselves. So when we see ourselves in a picture (even a nice one), it doesn't look like us all that much because it's a mirror image of what we're used to seeing.

Did ya get that?? :teeth:

Nope, I don't like it but I allow it. After my mom died I was kind of sad to know how few pictures I had of her. I allow it because I don't want others to wish they had more of me in the future (sounds egotistical in a way, but I am sure that makes sense).

I haven't noticed much difference in myself via mirror or picture though... don't care for either look actually :p

I love to have my picture taken 'cause I is beeeeuuuutiful.....

I don't mind it (assuming someone tells me they're taking my picture before they snap the photo). I think I look better in pictures than I do in person. ;)

I really like candid pictures of myself, but if I'm posing, forget about it!

lol I feel the same way. I just looked through our last wdw trip scrapbook and I am in....drum roll please....one photo! But I am also one who runs when I see a camera, another dork on puase. I despise pictures of myself, I do not photograph well at all. I'm also a camera person though, I break my camera out at pretty much any given moment.

I don't mind, but I don't photograph well. Seems like I always have a goofy smile or was blinking my eyes at the time, something like that. But DH was a photo student when I met him, he's a professional photographer, and now DD, the art student, is also much into photography. So I've learned to just smile and go with it, too much work to try to avoid being snapped! :sunny:
