Do you know where DVC is branching out to?

I was -mistakenly- under the impression that everyone -like me- is chomping at the bit for Hawaii to go on sale so I assumed -yes, I know about assuming  - that DVC would start a wait list for members interested in adding on Hawaii. I bugged my DH until he called our rep to check. The rep said that No, there wasn't a wait list -sigh- and that DVC would be going into 2 other markets 1st. Now I know that DVC is going to Cali. That's not a secret but he didn't say what the other market was going to be.

So, I know someone on these boards knows the answer. Where's DVC going between California and Hawaii?

Thanks for the help!
Cheryl

Was he referring to KTR maybe?

According to filings, KTR is due out 2009 and Hawaii isn't due until 2010.

Oh jeesh I'm still not used to that name or abbreviation for it! Thanks....

Hmm that depends on DVC's definition of Market. Usually in the financial world banks etc. Market is a district area state etc. It could be interpreted as another state etc. Possibly Asia??? :confused3 Most likely the rep used the term in a different way and was referring to KT?

Someone in real estate chime in lol!

Maybe they are just thinking of AKV since it isn't even nearly completed yet.

Well, I used to think Asia would certainly get a DVC...and in short order...but Disneyland Hong Kong is tanking, big time. Tokyo is doing well, mostly due to DisneySea (widely agreed to be the best Disney park anywhere in the world) so that might be a possibility.

But in the news there was just a piece about Disney officials meeting with government officials in Australia. They were specifically looking at some property in a very well-known, beautiful resort area near Sydney. I can't remember the name of it, though I am sure someone here will know. My guess, though, is that an Australia resort would be like Hawaii--resort only with no theme park. (Although these resorts will certainly be more than just resorts. I believe the term is "pocket park" meaning that there will be tons of stuff to do right on the resort property.) Both Disney and the Australian govt. confirmed that the talks did, indeed, take place and they also confirmed that they were discussing this particular piece of property. But no other information was shared.

Why not put a DVC in every nook and cranny in the world. Then imagine the competition at 7 months for any WDW DVC villa. For Christmas, Easter, spring break, they all will be booked before 7 months even hits.

Sounds great sign me up for DVC Delaware or Kansas! Excitement Galore!
