Do you know someone who has been on a reality show?

I don't personally know them but I have met the Roloffs a couple of times, either getting pumpkins at the farm, where I used to work, or just around town.

I don't know that city the officially live in though, because Roloff Farm is in the rural area just north of Hillsboro. They shop at my grocery store as seen on Little People Big World and as seen in person when there were noticed on the entrances about them filming. They go to a private school here in Hillsboro, too.

In reading what I just wrote, I sound like a stalker, I'm not. They just stand out, even in a town of nearly 100,000.

MTV's show MADE was filmed at my high school twice, and at my college once.

The first was during the first season, about the annoying guy who wanted to be a triatholete. The second was the punk/goth girl who wanted to be Homecoming Queen. She was the one who made her dress out of duct tape. I knew both of them from being in random classes throughout the years with them.

As for the one filmed at my college, it was a highschool girl who wanted to be a beatboxer. It just so happened that her mentor-person was playing a concert at my college, so she tagged along and was forced to perform in front of a bunch of drunk college students, and they filmed it, haha...

One of my best friends from college has a younger brother who appeared on American Idol and made it to 6th place in his season........

Speaking of Pawn Stars. I grew up/went to school with the two younger guys. I also heard a girl from high school was on Dr. 90210.

I'll have to ask DH about those guys...it's one of his shows now. He watches Pawn Stars, Deadliest Catch, American Pickers, Madhouse, Ice Road Truckers, American Loggers (I think thats the name of it) and American Choppers (thank goodness that show finally ended). He used to never watch tv, now he watches more than anyone else in the house. OH, and Mythbusters.

My husband knows someone who was on a few episodes of Monster Garage. I know someone who was on While You Were Out, and my friend's daughter recently turned down a chance to be on The Real World.

Kathy O'Brien of Survivor fame is a realtor in our area and she showed our house. DH spoke with her on the phone...that's as close as we got.

Nate Marshall from American Idol season 8 moved to our area and sings on the street and works at Spencers Gifts as a cashier. We talked with him once, but don't really know him.

An old roommate of mine was friends with Joe from Rel World Miami. I went to his apartment one time when he was having a little get together. When I watched the Real World Miami, I was like that guy looks familiar, an it didn't click until they showed his apartment.

A co-worker of mine on some diet show on discovery channel many years ago. I never saw it.

Another co-worker was on Moving Up on TLC.

Met him at Nassua's Atlantis when he and Amber were working on the details of their wedding. We happened to be going to the aquarium when my daughter spotted him walking towards us. He was so super nice, walked over to us and then invited us to take pictures with him. I was so "star" struck I could barely hold the camera steady. His words to me were "don't just take the pictures, get in the pictures with us."!!! I couldn't but my daughters did. When we asked where Amber was, he told us she was in the area somewhere. We didn't see her during our exploring. :goodvibes

Two of my kids' teachers have been on reality shows.

The first one was the hot 7th grade World Geo teacher. She and her twin sister, in skimpy bikinis, were on Fear Factor. World Geo was much more interesting for those 7th grade boys after it aired. Well, if anybody could pay attention anymore.

Then one of the high school science teachers was on American Gladiator.

Also, DS graduated with Nicole Fox, the last winner of America's top model. She was in several of his classes. It is not a huge, huge high school, so everybody knows pretty much everybody. He dug out his yearbook and showed us how she looked in high school. Said she never looked the way she did on America's Top Model :happytv:

How could I have forgotten, Ace Young's (Idol) parents live about 2 blocks away and he went to the local high school. I don't know him, but plenty of my friends do. The Young boys have been spotted numerous times in the local Safeway.

There is also somebody my kids know that was on Big Brother. Oops, make that Real World, Denver.

I must be living in Reality Show mecca.

OMG!!!!!! Sooooo jealous! Ace was my favorite AI contestant ever! After he was done on Idol I even went to some of his solo shows, including one at Disney at House of Blues. I still follow his career to this day! That's awesome! :) His parents seem like really nice people too.

My cousin hosts the Oxygen reality show "Love Games." I can't stand those women so I can't watch it! :lmao:

I also go to school with Patrick Henry Hughes. He was on Extreme Home Makeover and Oprah. He is in a wheelchair, his dad pushes him, and blind but is in our marching band and is really talented! :goodvibes

Katie Stevens (from this season of American Idol) lives about 10 minutes or so from me, I don't know her personally, but there are banners and signs to vote for her all over town and the surrounding towns.

We must be neighbors! My town starts with "N".

A girl I went to high school with was on The Biggest Loser.

For the celebrity side of things, my Dad used to be Clint Black's boss back when he was an Ironworker so it was funny when he was on Extreme Home Makeover and talked about his days as an Ironworker!

yes my girlfriend and her family did "Wife Swap" it was a horrible experience for them. the only reason they did it was for the large amount of money they were paid. otherwise they might have lost their home. things are better financially for them now, and she said they would never do it again!

Just had to add that my nephew is a carpenter on "The Ugliest House on the Block"

Someone from the town next to mine was also on Wife Swap--one of the very first, if not THE first, episode. They made the family look awful. I don't know them, but one of the things they showed was that the family had a lot of pets, and they showed poop on the floor. A few years later, she swore that the producers must have put it there, and said that she was forbidden to talk about the show for a certain period of time, so she was unable to defend herself. They made it seem like the woman had a disgustingly dirty house. Maybe she did/maybe she didn't, but I hope they got paid a lot to make it worthwhile. She said she was forbidden to talk about the money aspect, also.

My best friend's cousin was on Survivor. I kept joking ...wouldn't it be funny if he got voted off first? HE WAS!!

Is it Billy? I know his sister from a lonnng time ago. Just reconnected recently through Facebook.

We also have a co-worker who was on The Apprentice. She was a bit snotty on the show. Some things are reality in reality shows. :happytv:

i had friends who were on an episode of MTV's True Life.

it was a few years ago, it was an episode called "I'm Jealous of my Sibling" and it was my friend Joey and his sister Jenny.

the interesting thing is, when i first saw it, i told both of them "....you're acting a LOT different than you do irl" because irl they're both pretty nice and funny and outgoing and in the episode it made them look pretty nasty.

Jenny told me that the producers of the show told them to "amp it up" with fighting and stuff like that so they had more "drama" they could show.

OMG!!!!!! Sooooo jealous! Ace was my favorite AI contestant ever! After he was done on Idol I even went to some of his solo shows, including one at Disney at House of Blues. I still follow his career to this day! That's awesome! :) His parents seem like really nice people too.

i was at that HOB show too!!! it was a few years ago around Christmas time, right??

I know several people who think they are on a reality show and that there must be hidden cameras following them. :sad2: Such drama queens! :p

:lmao:

my DSIL will constantly tell me "omg they should have like, filmed me and my friends for The Hills when we were in high school. we were like, SOOOO much crazier than those girls"(mind you......she's 30 years old, and still tries to act like she's 20)

How could I have forgotten, Ace Young's (Idol) parents live about 2 blocks away and he went to the local high school. I don't know him, but plenty of my friends do. The Young boys have been spotted numerous times in the local Safeway.
.

omg i'm jealous! i LOVED him on Idol!! i still do!!
