that has just spent two days with both Grandmothers? Nothing has made him happy today. He is R-O-T-T-E-N! I just put him in his crib and I think he's going to sleep. I couldn't take him anymore.

Gotta love Grandparents!:p

They are amazing aren't they. The things my mom lets DD do just astound me. I say let him go cold turkey ;) .

As Bill Cosby says Grandparents are old people trying to get into Heaven.

That's funny, for the first few years of my kids' lives, my MIL went the opposite route. She was constantly reminding them to say "Yes Ma'am", "Please", and "Thank you". She wouldn't (and probably still wouldn't) let them have a snack without clearing their plate. No sneaking candy, no late night sleepovers and she still, to this day, refuses to buy the boys a toy. (Doesn't think they are practical)

I guess there's nothing wrong with these things in and of themselves, but sometimes, I wish she'd just spoil them a little bit. I agree with SIL who said, "I wish she'd stop trying to be a parent to them and just spoil them like Grandmas should." (Actually, she insists on being called "Grandmother" )

Grandparents have a way of undoing everything you've worked like a dog to accomplish. You might as well give up, nobody has ever found the antidote.;)

I LOVE being a Grandma! :p it really is more fun. :)

Doing the grandparent thing is so much fun. My two teens will look at me when the DGD are here and go "YOU NEVER LET US DO THAT"!!!! LOL! I think they're worried about when they have kids and what I'll do to theirs. Pay back is so much fun.

Wow...I'm envious that both grandmothers wanted to take him. We never had that "luxury". Even though both were only 20 minutes away :( Neither would offer and hinting fell on deaf ears.

But I do feel your pain...as DD got older, if I said "no", my mother would say "sure!", things like that and totally undermine me and give me the "shh".

Hope he takes a great long nap for you. He probably hasn't slept much for 2 days, his whole routine must have been blown. Try to remember he has no control over it...not the little guy's fault;)

You're so right. He was exhausted yesterday. He took a 3 hour nap.

He is back to his big, old, happy self again.

  ---DH swears that grandma is not the same person who raised him.;)

I cannot wait to have a grandbaby to spoil as badly as my grandmother spoiled me. ;)

Consider yourself very blessed...LOL!! :goodvibes
We have 10 'pride and joys' to love and spoil!!!! :grouphug:

 I'm an only child and my dad is CONSTANTLY hinting that we need to start having kids. He's going to spoil them ROTTEN!!! My mom will too...but dad is the worst.

I'm looking forward to being a grandmother some day. I had an absolutely wonderful grandmother myself and my mom has been an awesome grandmother to my dd so I have two good examples to help show me the way, lol. Of course my dd Ashli is a long way from that point in her life so I have quite a while to wait but that's ok, when the time's right, I'll be ready, lol.
