i make a salt scrub to remove paint etc from my hands after work,,, i use tbs salt to tbs dawn dissh liquid for that, how ever it will work with a good liquid soap or body wash too.. not the best but will work. btw if you have alergies that involve sea food or iodine, use plain salt or sugar.
Honestly just Olive Oil and Kosher Salt. About half and half, add a drop of essential oil for scent (not cinnamon, can burn). This is the best I have ever found and what was used on me the one time I paid big bucks at a fancy salon to have it done (in Chicago).
This is one I make from time to time. I get the ingredients in our local health food store
1/2 cup sugar (I buy the store brand not the Domino, it's too fine)
1/4 cup almond liquid soap
Mix together
Rub on hands gently, and then squirt 2-4 squirts of almond oil and rub through hands and arms or legs.
Smells yummy and you can buy whatever kind of soap and oil you like, your skin will be so smooth!
How ironic - I just saw this yesterday on some Martha Stewart show that was on while I was cleaning my living room.
She didn't give any specific measurements but this is what she did:
In a bowl mix:
Regular Granulated Sugar
Sesame Oil
Zest from 1 lemon
She put all the sugar in the bowl, then added the sesame oil slowly until it made a dry paste (not too moist) and then added in the lemon zest. She said to package it in a container and add a tiny bit more sesame oil to help it stay moist and then voila! That's it!!
I think I'm going to make some of these, as well as some sea salt scrubs for x-mas gifts this year. I have some cute small glass jars I can use to package them and buy some scrubby puffs or something from the $1 store - money is tight this year...lots of people are gettting homemade fabric wreaths and sugar scrubs from me as xmas gifts!
