I was reading the thread to my teen son and his reaction was, " wow, she better be ready to really put up with a lot of grief at school.". Sorry but i think he might be right. i like unique names and wanted to name my son Tyson (yes, like the chicken), and everyone talked me out of it. My son now thanks everyone that helped talk me out of it. I also wanted to name my DD (it was had one) Kreighton.
She might be the type of child that can handle the strong name and love it or she might really have a hard time, i think i would use it as a middle name or choose a less bold statement of her wonderful start in life.
My B-in Law is Patrick John but everyone calls him John now but he was Patty growing up.
Yeah, but Miles is a name that won't cause folks to ask what time is the 3 0'clock parade every time he turns around. Or hey baby, how's about a fast pass.

) BTW, the spelling got that way because in Irish Gaelic, Patrick is spelled Padraig. While it's more common now to use the English spelling for the full name, the nickname retains the D's that make it masculine.
I know a lady with the first name of Dooder...seriously...DOODER.
I think only you can make the choice...I personally wouldn't name my daughter Disney...but I like it that you want to. I wanted something different for my daughter and named her Elsa...
To each her own!And congrats!!!!!!
This probably won't help much, but here's a short list of disney character names if you're interested.

Wouldn't be my top choice but don't let the fact that kids will tease be the reason you don't choose the name. Kids will find a way to tease.....no matter what the name.
For crying out loud, I wanted Luke but DH was so paranoid that everyone would think we named him after Luke Skywalker. I wanted the name and we finally named one of our boys Luke. The first thing hubby said as he cuddled the baby was "Luke, I am you father." Everyone has their "comments" but we just go with the flow. And the name fits him perfectly.
I had to laugh at that comment because when we were trying to name our kids my DH would nix so many of them because he would say the kids would get teased, but most of his references were from shows, etc we watched when WE were kids. For instance, I liked the name Ben,but he said all he could think of was the littel brother from Growing Pains and that kids would make fun of him. As if all the kids in school today have stockpiles of 80's references at the ready for teasing the other kids.![]()
