I have kept a rather large size shoebox (I really should get something nicer) of things that are special to me that are directly related to my son.
It has his first shoes, batismal outfit/ candle, confirmation things etc...Baseball cap/uniform
Also his elementary sweatshirt of his school,a special poem he wrote to ME!...some (actually lots) of special things close to my heart. It's amazing what can fit in a box LOL
I like it so much I doubt I'll give it up!
My Mom never did this for me, I wish I had one.
Now that I'm thinking of it, I should use my Disney Hat Box...anyone remember when they gave those away? They were a big hit on this site!

LOL..thought I was the only one that did this.

My kids are 27, 24, 20, 19. None married yet and I have 4 boxes, one for each kid the size of a refrigerator!

You name it..it's in there.

They do go through them every once in a while and love every memory in there.

They will take these with them when they get married. Whew..can't wait LOL

I'm up to two for my 11 y/o dd!!! She loves going thru the older one.

Yep, I do this too. Except I have two boxes for each child. One is their "memory box" which has pictures they've made, first school papers, 1st birthday cards, certificates they've gotten, etc. The other has their coming home from the hospital outfit and a few other baby outfits I can't bear to part with, plus quilts they got as babies. They love to look through their memory boxes and when they are each having their first babies, I'm going to give them the other box.

same! But I use pizza boxes. YOu can buy new ones from the pizza shop. I put one or two years worth of stuff in each.

Oh yes I do, I have one for myself from when I was growing up and each of my kids have 1, my oldest has 2!

I feel that there are just some things that have special meaning and should NEVER be thrown away. In fact, I started out with a shoebox when I was a kid and have since gone to rather large bins with locking lids!

I have several for each of my DS's.

I've always had a hard time weeding through their "important papers" so I've now decided to keep them all. Some day they can make the choice to decide what's important for them. My parents kept some of my pictures when I was little. My Dad had them in one of his desk drawers and I remember looking through them and how I felt doing that. I hope my kids enjoy their memories too.

DH just dreads when I say I have another box for the attic. Space is limited but he always finds room.

I have one for each of my kids. In it is their baby shoes, outfit the came home from the hospital in (the same they got their photo in), Deflated balloons, cards,Christening outfits, all that good baby stuff!

We have boxes for our girls. Each is filled with all sorts of memorabilia from the year they were born....magazines, newspapers, minted coin sets, popular items (eg a beanie baby is in my one daughter's box). Plus I add to them special items from their childhood. I think it will be so much fun to present it to them when they turn 18 and look through all the stuff that we've collected. :D It becomes a time capsule!

I have a box for each of my kids. I keep baby stuff: shoes, going home from hospital outfits, etc. I also keep b-day cake toppers and final school year report cards along with their school journals.

Yes, but they are starting to resent the fact that I think they should be in thier boxes all the time.

Since there isn't much right now..I've got DS's stuff tucked away in his babybook. But I'm sure I'll be getting him a box of his own soon. *sniffle*

I have one box (so far) for each child. The outfits we brougt them home in, the hats from the hospital, pacifiers, special blanket that grandma made, halloween costumes (can't do this for much longer, they take up alot of room).

I wish my parents would of done this. I have nothing from my childhood. I know I had a few special toys, I just wish they would of held onto them.

A disposable diaper- not a used one- but one of the size that she started out using, everytime I see it I cry, it's just sooooo small.

Each of my angels has a Rubbermaid container that has their memories in it

One day I tell myself they'll need to be put into one. One day

My MIL is saving one of DNephew LittleBitty's first diapers. He was born 13 wks early and we used to laugh when comparing his diapers to DS's. When they were both 8 wks old, we compared them and it took 3 of LB's diapers to make ONE of DS's. :)

I have one for DS. Its a big rubbermaid container, the one with the locking lid. He's only 6, am I in trouble? I kept his christening stuff, things from the hospital, a plate from his 1st birthday and christening, school papers, pictures he made me. I didn't keep his going home outfit or my DD's. I feel bad now, Am I a horrible mama? I just started one for DD.

Right now I have one of the big rubbermaid boxes that is holding all her stuff, every holiday and birthday card she got..all the stuff from the hospital the day she was born, a newpapaer from the day she was born (there was a big jet that went down locally that day!) all her school work etc...After next year I will probally start another one.

Wow, Rubbermaid boxes, you really save some stuff LOL
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a special box!
I have his first haircut clippings in there too. It's funny how you forget what you actually saved if you haven't looked in there for some time.
I think I'll continue his box throughout his college years!
