We have 4 computers in our house, 3 laptops, 1 desk top. We have 4 people here so one person per computer (5 computers, 5 people if you count DS18 away at college). Everyone seems to want to use "my" computer--which is my old work computer that I paid for to use at work :lmao:. DH also has a laptop that never uses because he is always on my computer. Do you have your own computer and if so, do other people in your house use it on a regular basis?

We have 8 computers for 6 of us. We have an extra desktop and I have a second netbook connected to a sprint broad band network as a road computer and backup if my DSL should go down. I could never share my computer and I don't like getting on someone elses that isn't set up like mine is. Yes we are obsessed. We don't watch much tv like we used to, we cut down on the number of tv's.

2 people and 2 computers. We don't share. We both have to have computers because he's currently in Afghanistan and this is our only form of communication. We don't share when he's home because he has his websites and music on his and I have my stuff on mine. I keep mine in the living room and he sits at the the kitchen table. lol It works well for us.

DH & I each have our own computers. Both Dells. They are getting up there in age, mine is 2002 and DH's is 2005.

We bought an Ipad in May and LOVE IT. That we share!

So last weekend, we went and bought an iMac! LOVE IT. That we will share!

We actually have 3 computers for the two of us, plus I just got an Ipad for Christmas which I use all the time for internet stuff. DH works in IT, so we usually have more computers than people in our home! Oh! I forgot the laptop he brings home from work, so make that 4 computers. Yikes!:scared1:

4 computers, 2 people. We each have our own desktops in the living room that we play WoW on and use for email and such. We have a laptop that usually is off, only used when we go away. There is also an older desktop in the bedroom, that mainly DH uses.

We have more computers than people at our house. I'm actually worried that if they ever decide to revolt and take over, we will be greatly outnumbered.

We have four computers and 2 work laptops (not technically ours) for four people (me, dh, dd-9, ds-5).

BUT

In reality we have two computers. One is shared by dd and ds and the other is shared by dh and myself. Each person has their own log in/desktop.

The other two "computers" are in the basement. One is our server, and it backs everything up once a week...and the other is our Mac, generally used to house iTunes for dd's iPod and the occasional project for dd's school if it can't be done on the PC.

Dh is a network admin so we of course have to have a server! ;)

I have my own laptop and then we have a desktop the girls share an old desk top. I have been trying to encourage them to purchase their own laptops, so we ca get rid of the old desktop and the big desk that goes along with it.

We have one PC and my DH has a work-issued laptop. We all share the PC, but I will say that it is getting more inconvenient to do so since my youngest started middle school. I told my DH the other day that I think we are going to have to "give in" and buy a laptop (for me) so that we have two computers available when they both need one for school work.

I really don't intend on my kids owning their own laptops until they leave for college, but who knows...that might change.

dh and i each have our own laptop, and we have one desktop for the house. The desktop came with me when we got married, then hubby got a laptop he liked the freedom of carrying it with him. We both used that one until this year I got my own when I started grad school.

We have 4 computers and 4 people. We each have sorta our own just by default! I have the worst one! My DS won't use mine because I don't have the good game card in etc, so he only uses his, My DH uses his and doesn't use mine because mine isn't as good, he has all his work stuff on his and he doesn't like sitting in the Kitchen where mine is, and My DD will use mine but mostly uses her lap top.

I can use all of them but usually am on mine because I have been kicked off all the others as they come home. I'm like the dog as far as computers go I'm at the bottom of the pack!

We had 2 computers for 5 people until this past Christmas. DH works from home when he's not travelling, so he has his own laptop for work that no one else touches.
I have a desktop that my 3 kids were battling me with trying to do homework, research and schoool projects on. It got crazy, since more and more of their work is required to be done on the computer (don't get me started...)
So DS16 pleaded for his own laptop and we gave in for Christmas/Birthday for my own sanity. I wish I could use his when he's at school sometimes, if I could only figure out how to use the darn thing! (Mac).

7 computers here (not counting the 2 partially functioning laptops in the closet) for 4 people.
DS Dell desktop ,dell netbook and his work dell laptop. All his exlusive use.
DD Apple laptop, her exclusive use since she is the only one who knows how to us an Apple.
DW Dell laptop that is 90% hers.
Me, 2 Dell desk tops, the newest is about 90% mine, the old one is 100% mine because all my financial software is on it, and none of the financial software I like has ever been upgraded to work on anything beyond Windows 98. Either that, or none of the new financial software makes it clear how to use it as stand alone software, the new stuff all wants to log into my bank account online.

DH and I each have a laptop and then there are two separate computers in DH's office upstairs, and he also has a work issued laptop. So technically there are 2 of us and 5 computers.

4 people, 4 laptops and 1 desktop..

we each have our own laptop that we use..the desktop is for the common stuff..itune library, photos, etc...and also when the kids get their laptop privilege taken away, they have to use the desktop in the family room for homework.

Is it startling that of 18 of the 22 votes have each their own computer for their family members? I really can't believe that we now have a 3 desktops (1 on it's way out), a laptop and a netbook. We each use our own, but my desktop was used by DD an me, even after she got her laptop, because it was convenient and always turned on.

I remember days of "scheduling" who had use of the computer when we got our first desktop some 12-13 years ago. That is was started my early morning checking of email and my favorite websites first thing in the morning - before anyone else was out of bed. I still do it, even though I'm not sharing my netbook with anyone.

I have my MacBook, my DH has a Dell of some sort, and we have a desktop in the guestroom.

Mine + her's + ours.

And the netbook that came with "her's".
