There are two for me, library and drawer. They tend to sound like liberry and draw. (I am told that is due to my NY accent....which I don't think I have any more.)
OOOps, you mean like mispronouncing them? I say ofTen rather than ofen, after all there is a "T" in it, and I say idear rather than idea, because I was born in Mass, and it's the only thing that stuck from listening to my mother's family. I try not to say y'all, and I try to keep my southern accent to a minimum.
He-he-he !
I also have trouble with "wheel"-sounds like "will" when I say it !
honeywolf-they tell me they are suppose to sound different, I have truly tried!
Problem is I don't pronounce them mA(&)l at all I do sort of a one sounded thing that rhymes with "tell". The above is like 2 sounds-I'm pitiful ! Maybe everyone around here makes them different with southern accents? Don't tell me wheel and will are homophones! My DH kids me ruthlessly about my inability to distinguish differences between the two ! Wheel is more of the 2 sounds and will is one.
