Do you have to use your free birthday ticket on that day?

I remember reading somewhere on here and I couldn't find it again that the ticket you pick up expires one year from the day it is issued, is this true?

I have an AP that is blacked out that day, stupid spring break :headache: So I was thinking of picking up the ticket and saving it until my AP expires if that is possible. Firsthand experience anyone?

Here is the thread about the birthday options!

This is in that thread:

Q: What if I'm an Annual Passholder and my birthday falls on a day my Annual Pass is blocked out?

A: If your birthday falls on a day that your Passport is blocked out, you will be able to enjoy your birthday in the park with a 1-Day/1-Park Ticket. You can also use that ticket to upgrade to a park hopper ticket, to renew your Annual Pass, or to upgrade your Annual Pass.

So I think you'd have to actually get a blockout ticket ($40 as you might know) in order to get the ticket good through the year. Or the birthday fun card.

FYI I'm sooooo reading your wedding planning journal now! I am only on the 3rd page but I'm loving it. I had a really brightly colored wedding too, though I didn't go as bold as you're thinking on the 3rd page. Was too chicken!!!

bumbershoot is right. You'll either have to buy a block out ticket or upgrade your AP to pick up your birthday. May not make financial sense to get a$69 ticket.

I thought I was going to be in the same boat since my bday is in June and I have the SC Select AP. Turns out the week of my bday is the only week in June that I can go! ;) So, you know where I'll be on the 23rd!

Oops, my bad-I have to upgrade to the SC AP for $40 to go on my bday. So, I think I'll do that soon so I can go on Sundays as well. My AP expires in Sept.

Thanks guys! I guess I will just give that plan up, it was still a nice idea.

Thanks bumber, its been a fun process and now we're officially less than three months out, so the excitement is definitely setting in!

Me, too! I am on page 4 and totally hooked. Love the Mad Hatter theme!

Oh, I love weddings. I would get married every year if I could. :rotfl:

I blame bumbershoot for making me go look too!!!! I spent the whole thread switching from Jealousy to tears to Jealousy, but that might be the pregnancy hormones! :rotfl:

I am so excited for you, it will be beautiful! I so wanted a Mad Hatter wedding, I really tried to talk DH into the fact I should have the baby shower there but at Disney prices :scared1:

I must say I so want your RSVP cards and to see pictures of your happy day. Congrats to you both!!!!

Oh and on topic, play in the park for the $40 black out price for a few hours and then get your GC you will be up $29 bucks that way and have gotten a few rides in a fun day all around :)

prncssmel- while I love the idea of weddings you couldn't pay me enough to do it every year hahahahh!

I read your dis journal and started reading your blog, too. If only you were having your wedding a few days later, we might be going for DS's birthday after the holiday and I could have peeked at the fabulousness!

As for planning weddings...almost as soon as ours was over (I had planned hubby's dream wedding...I myself had never ever dreamed of a wedding!) we started talking about the renewal that will be MY vision. So we've got that on the faraway horizon.

In the meantime I love seeing weddings where people have the time and the SKILLS to do what they want...like Louie's invitations, which are incredible, and totally my style, but I had no skills (still don't) to make 'em! They are so wonderful!

It's crazy, I know. But the only thing I like better than planning Disney trips was planning our wedding. Plus, I'm a big attention *****. ;)

I am always talking about our vow renewal, too, despite that fact that we haven't even been married for 2 years yet. But it will be at Disney, so it will probably take me years to plan. lol

Those invitations are amazing. Love the cute little pockets!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words

The invitations were one of the things I was most excited about. I've always been crafty, but my follow through is terrible, the wedding is a great motivator.

I wasn't going to make programs because I really don't see how they're necessary most of the time, but now that the invites are done I'm seriously considering it only because I have been bitten by the craft bug and want to keep sticking those little paper daisies with the Mickey heads in the center on everything.

:rotfl: Seriously nothing makes you crafter then a wedding!! I warned my completely uncrafty friend this when she got engaged and now with her wedding fast approaching in June she is becoming very crafty hahaha!

I have to say those Mickey Fan programs are the cutest things!! But I think what I am most excited to see you pull all together is the latterns. That is the best idea ever, and so unique. I love the fact that your invites reflect the latterns (sorry bad pun :upsidedow ) and that mickey head daisy is so cute!

I really am so excited to see how your whole wedding comes together!! This is how I avoid having a wedding renewal myself, I just live vicariously through other couples weddings :rotfl:

Oh, go for it!

Programs are one of the least essential items (though hubby's friend's wife's family found them essential as they had a big huge Philipino wedding with "sponsors" who needed to be mentioned in the program), but they are so FUN, so if you have the time and the energy, do it!
