Do you HAVE to have a CC on keycards?

We have always had a CC on file/keycards but for this upcoming trip we are staying in the same villa with other folks. I think to make sure things are kept seperate, etc. we would like to NOT have to pay with our keycard just our individual CC.

You can handle this a few ways:

1) Do not leave a credit card on file and have no room charging.

2) Leave a credit card, but do not authorize charging for their room keys...each room key can be charging or non-charging.

3) Have charging on all cards, and the evening before check-out, get a printout from the front deak, they can break it down by which individual key was used, and the others can pay their share at that time. This has to be done before you reach the room charge limit of $1500, or it charges out automatically.

Thanks!!! I forgot to add that we have the DDP so I don't know if that changes the scenario at all or not (i.e. gratuities, etc. but we figured we can just put that on the CC).

The DDP really does not change the scenariio, all keys will still be encoded with all dining credits.

As mentioned above, you can choose who can charge and who can not. When we are traveling and staying in a 2 bedroom with many of our relatives, I have the charging priviledges only on mine and my DH's cards. It's never a problem.

We never put a CC on our key cards - we carry cash to pay for all of our extras!

We never put a CC on our room keys. We cary a CC and use that.

We never use our key to charge anything. We do however, put our credit card on our key to be able to access the free internet. Our other family members don't know that it is possible to charge with a key and we don't feel inclined to clue them in so we never have a problem.

I have not heard of that before. We use the free internet without putting the CC down on the room.

Same here. It's no big deal to carry my own CC and then I don't have to have them put a $1500 hold on my card. I just put the CC in my AP sleeve along with my AP and room key. That way I never even have to take a bag to the parks, and can bypass the bag check.
