Hi everyone!
We have not been to WDW at Christmastime for a few years now. It used to be that on the two weekends before Christmas, they would have the special shows like Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, the Celebrate the Season show, the Diamond Horseshoe Christmas show (obviously, this must no longer be there) and Belle's Enchanted Christmas Storytelling. Did they make it so you can only see these if you pay extra to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?
Thank you!

Hmm, I'm thinking the answer here is yes, because these are the touted shows during MVMCP that I don't remember being scheduled on any other day we were in the parks. The Christmas parade runs after the end of the party dates, but I don't remember the shows doing the same.

After the last MVMCP party date, all the Christmas shows and the parade can be seen during regular park hours through the end of the Christmas season.

Thank you, DisneyKidds! That is what I was hoping to hear. I see that MVMCP runs through the 17th and we will be there until the 21st. I noticed on the calendar of events that the Christmas Parade will replace the Share a Dream Come True parade at 3:00 starting on Dec. 18th so that matches up to what you are saying.
Thank you so much!

When does the Chirstmas Season officially end for Disney. We will be arriving Dec 30th, and we're hoping to see as much of the Holiday in WDW as possible.

Thanks......

The other day someone posted on here that they were told by Disney that this year the Christmas parade will only be shown at MVMCP and not during the daytime after the last MVMCP.

While Disney is free to do what they like and entertainment is subject to change, I'd be very surprised if this were actually true. It just doesn't make any sense. For starters it is a break from tradition I just don't see happening. And why would they do it?

That brings me to my second point. Disney has the Christmas parade in full swing for the parties. Everything is in place and up and running for the parade. I don't see Disney just slamming the breaks on and shelving the parade during the time when most people would expect to see such a parade......around Christmas. I'll bet almost anything that if Disney ever decides to not offer the Christmas parade during park hours as they have traditionally done after the last MVMCP date you will see them add MVMCP dates right through New Years.

This is from mouseplanet.com:

"Special holiday events are set for the entire Walt Disney World Resort, but don't count on seeing the Very Merry Christmas Parade if you're not going to be at one of the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party events. In response to a query, MousePad member RememberthMagic received an email response from WDW Guest Communications stating that they have no plans to run the parade at any time other than during the Christmas parties at this point. The Share a Dream Come True Parade will run daily through the holidays. This would mark the first time in three years that the Christmas Parade will not run during the day. The parade may run during the day in staggered segments on December 3-5 in order to tape it for broadcast. We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, there are plenty of other special events going on to celebrate the holidays."

I'm glad I'm going to MVMCP twice. -Stephanie

seems to me that if that were true..............they would run the MVMCP through Christmas, too. But because they stop the parties on the 17th, seems like to me that would be because now all that has been in the parties is now in the park during regular hours.

That quote does say "no plans............at this point". So, maybe that was just to draw more people in for early December since they know how busy it gets at Christmas.

I will just bet that when we get there on the 18th, there will be a chance to see that parade. Otherwise, I'll be sure to complain! You see the parade on TV with Christmas theming and Santa at the end, so you think you're going to get that if you go! (I know the parade is filmed early, but most people won't even think about that).

Edited to say........Look! I'm a Dis Veteran now!:teeth:

That is an interesting piece of rumor/info about the parade not being run after MVMCP.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least. They may figure they can sell more MVMCP tickets than they would have if people think it is the only chance to see the parade. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on being able to see the parade between December 18th and the end of the Holiday season (January 2).

I sure hope they have the parade. Some of us who have a child in middle school can no longer go earlier in the month. Well I guess technically we could drive over for the night, but not everyone has that option. I'm expecting the parks to be crowded, but that's okay because we're mostly going for the special holiday offerings not for the rides. It seems to me that WDW would do something to compensate for the inability their guests have to ride as many rides during that week. I figure it all balances out, but not if they don't offer all the Christmas parades and shows. :( JMO

They are having a Christmas parade- the Jammin Jingle Jungle Parade (I think that's what its called) at the AK. Maybe that's why they don't see the need for one at the MK. -Steph
