Overworked underpaid, underworked and overpaid, or was that you with the sign Blondie saw the other day?;)

Good Lord, NO!

I would have been fired years ago........ :teeth:

I'm late by nature, but I rarely take a lunchbreak and almost always stay later than I am supposed to. I figure it all evens out in the wash.

Although at my new job, I can proudly say that I have not been late ONE TIME! Of course, I've only been here two weeks. :teeth:

Thank goodness no, we just fill in a monthly time sheet. Im glad too, Im habitually late everywhere, its so frustrating, I always find one more "mom" thing to do as Im walking out of the house! I don't take lunch breaks (so I can get off an hour earlier) and I stay late enough to compensate for the few minutes Im late tho. I wouldn't get near as many hours tho if I had to clock in and out everytime I stop a read the DIS! :p

We sign in & sign out..:)

I just have to show up. lol. Seriously, I am at work over 40 hours a week, I am in early most days and skip lunch some days (I can't say I am working working all that time since I do visit the DIS and goof off a bit). I am salaried so no matter what I work I get the same amount (based on a 40 hour work week). :D I get comp time for anything over 40 hours.

Show up and fill out a weekly timesheet. I am always there early and don't take lunch. They are VERY FLEXIBLE with taking time during the day if I need to do things with kids at school (bake sale, lunch with your child, openhouse). I absolutely love my job, less than a mile from home (home in 3 min. during rush hour) and don't have to get an ulcer when I call to say I won't be in because the kids are sick. As long as the work gets done, fine. I can take work home or change hours or work at night or weekends, at my convenience! What could be better?

I don't work now, but I've never had to sign in or out. I'm so forgetful that it wouldn't have worked anyway. At most of my jobs, we had to fill out time sheets either monthly or twice a month (depending on how often we were paid). But even if we didn't turn in our time sheets, we still got paid.

while i have had jobs in the past where i had to clock in/out, my current job just requies me to show up and fill out a weekly time sheet.

I'm salaried not hourly like most of my staff which means I just have to show up... thank GOODNESS because I really need to work on my own hours which is a blessing with elderly parents and a young child.

Just show up. I am salaried, so no matter how few or how many hours I work, the paycheck is the same. (and my boss can't see my office from his office ;) )

I am hourly just so they can give me overtime pay if I work it, but I just show up and fill out a sheet showing what hours I worked. If I do vacation I mark it there as well as if I do overtime. Same system goes for salaried and hourly managment employees.

I'm paid for 50 hours but work 70:eek:  .......what's WRONG with this picture???  . Welcome to academic medicine:) ........

Now I am a SAHM, so I LIVE clocked in.

When I taught school, I just had to show up. When I taught preschool, I had to clock in and out. Guess I've done a little of each.

Show up, put in my 60 hrs. a week, get paid for 40 and go home.

our Admin assistants retired, we now have E-Time. Where you basically punch in when you sign in in the morning. Other than that - I think someone used to mannually keep track of days off / sick etc. I'm salaried, so the hours don't matter ( actually if I looked at it as hourly, I'd be making minimum wage)!!
