Do you have to be lucky to get BWV Standard View Studio?

Hi,
I will be looking to book a Standard View Studio for 2 weeks from 10 December 2016 at the 11 month window.

As a test, I just looked now at availability for this type of accommodation 11 months out from today, and the first night (11 Oct) is already not available.

What is my chances of getting this booking for December?

It will be a challenge, but you have a good chance since you want to start your vacation on a Saturday. Be sure to be online ready to book at 8 AM Eastern on January 10, 2016.

We rented points through David's right at the eleven month mark. We were able to get a standard view studio for the last week of January.

If you login at 757 am the first available day and refresh your browser at 8am, I like your chances.

If you really want that and would not be happy with anything else, you can look into walking the reservation. Not a popular choice but it is done.

Unknown, plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Availability is more difficult today than a year ago and I expect that it will continue to get more difficult as additional owners are added to the DVC system.

Good suggestions from the others, MJ6987. It's a supply/demand thing and you are wanting a low supply room at a high demand time. To me this means you want to be ready to strike the moment the inventory is released. And if they don't have all that you need, get on the w/l at once. And I would book a backup.

So apparently getting a standard view studio during F&W is becoming (or already is) just like the Club level rooms at AKV. I signed in at 7:50am this morning and was ready for booking. At 8:00 am I hit search for a weeks worth and began my reservation. When I was done at 8:02 am - there were no rooms available for 10/12/2016. This is getting crazy!!! I guess walking your desired reservation is the only way to go now?

Gets harder every year. But strangely I managed a standard studio at BWV for the second week of May 2016 at the 7 month window. But for October and December its a test of speed and luck.

Thanks all, sounds like I have a decent, if not guaranteed, chance. I will be on at 8am. I really don't want to start "walking" reservations as this seems both a hassle and unethical to me.

The problem is the walkers. I am booked that time this year. I was on and ready at 8am and got mine. Others had posted alot last January about not being able to get and many boasted they did because of walking.
Very frustrating that our dues money is wasted on people booking nights they have no intention of using and calling each day to modify.
The me me me mentality gets old.

I think you do have a valid point. As the original owners of BWV sell their contracts, I wonder how many of the buyers have been people who bought BWV for F&W. As the membership grows, how many more will add on at BWV after being shut out 7 months out for that time of year? The number of owners at BWV may not fluctuate much from year to year but I suspect the number of owners who want to book a studio during F&W has increased.

Yep, and the BWV owners who didn't walk before face additional competition and then they start walking reservations.

We used to go over F&W and I could call at 10 3/4th months out and get a standard view two bedroom - back in the call day by day years. I don't think I could do that now - but we no longer travel then either.

(And we bought for that week before that week was F&W, its a long weekend for Minnesota school kids and pre-F&W it was an awesome week to go - now they are high schoolers and there are activities over that weekend - drama rehersals and football practice - and jobs - that can't be missed).

I had this issue booking last year what I did was wait list the entire stay and 2 days later I had the reservation. It was freed up when the walkers cancelled days

So did we. We got a few days right away and waitlisted and ended up with 7 nights. Today we added one more night.
