Hi everyone,

I am having a packing problem.

We are flying on Air Transat and each person is allowed 40lbs
each of checked luggage.

Our luggage weighs about 40 lbs on its own. I keep repacking
and weighing the luggage and contents.

I can only cut back so much. We will be doing laundry as we are
staying 2 weeks.

Whats a girl to do?????

My boyfriend has started to adopt that motto. So now I just pack my stuff directly into his suitcase when I run out of space in mine. :p

Don't forget you will probably buy T-Shirt so leave some at home!

Good excuse to buy some T-Shirsts if you leave some at home!

Are you going to have use of a car, do what I do, I no longer pack shampoo, etc but buy when we get there! It's amazing just how much that stuff can weigh!

I have to force myself to follow the old adage--pack what you think you need, then remove half.

It kills me to do it - but it's definitely worth it! Good Luck!

I think you must have the same suitcase as Auntie Krista!! :)

You don't need as much as you think, and by packing less you can buy more stuff down there.

Also, make sure you pack one change of clothes in your carry-on - just in case they lose your luggage.

Good Luck, and hide the rest of your stuff in hubbies bag if you can't part with it - seems DW adopted that motto years ago too...

Hi , check with Air Transit even though they say 40 lbs each sometimes they combine weight for entire family, so even though one may have 50 lbs the other may only have 30 lbs this would even the weight out.

Also if you have laundry facilities available all the time to you at your resort or hotel, only bring enough to wear for 4 days, make all outfits interchangeable. We go for two weeks every year and I have learned to only bring 3 pairs shorts, one bathing suit and coverup, one pair jeans, wear on plane, one sweatshirt, wear on plane, one fleece lined jacket, wear on plane, one pair wind pants, one skirt/matching top (just in case) one pair PJs, 3 tank tops, 2 tshirts, 2 pairs shoes, 2 pairs socks plus the unmentionables!! Disney and Orlando is so casual, shorts and Tshirts for dinner. Our family of three fit everything into one large 30" suitcase and then we each have one carry on.

You will be surprised how much you bring that you won't even wear.

Have a great trip!!

We always fly standby (airline employees) and since there is a chance that you might not make it on a flight if it is booked ; we only use carry on baggage. So last year when we (2adults,1teen,1 child)did WDW for 2 weeks, we all had 1 small suitcase and the kids and I carried a backpack. Yes, it is always a challenge, but we always seem to make do, heck we even did Europe this way too! I have some hints for efficient packing:
Pack enough for only 4 or 5 days, you can always wash underwear and socks in the room.We pack ultralightweight-quickdry stuff
ROLL all shirts, shorts, pants; this saves spaceand no wrinkles!
Since my youngest has the most room in his, he gets the toiletries
The near empty packbacks get all the souveniers to take home
Happy packing!!:teeth: :teeth:

and won't go back to lugging the big bricks!!:sunny:

Roll EVERYTHING, then ziplock it...squeeze ALL the air out(I sat on the bag;) )and then zip it quick!!:D

Be prepared to buy a medium size duffle bag to check for your trip home...I just packed a hockey bag that I picked up at Walmart for $9...now on sale for $6...it folds flat, and was great for bringing the clothes home...souvenirs got put in the carryons...nothing weighed over 15lbs!!!:D

Have Fun!!!:sunny:

Thanks Everyone,

Your suggestions are great. I'll go through everything again
and get rid of some of the stuff and try the rolling thing.:wave2:

I know on Air Canada you are and they each can weigh up to 70lbs. Is it not 2 on Air Transat as well?

:(
