Do you have state teacher's convention this week?

We are thinking about going down to WDW next year this week (10/21-10/28). Our kids have Thursday and Friday off due to teacher's convention and would only need to be pulled out for three days. I am just wondering what other states have off this week. Has anyone been to WDW this week, how are the crowds? Two kids in my DD's class went down this week, what are the odds of that? I just wonder if that is a sign that it is a VERY busy week! Thanks!

No convention for me. :confused3 Our last day off was Labor Day and we don't get another one until Thanksgiving week. They have cut a lot of our staff development/conference days. We are required to do that during summer.

McKelly - I'm also from Wis.

This is a great time to go! We did a Disney Cruise from Sunday to Thurs, and then WDW from Thursday -Sun. Best part - DD only missed 3 days of school due to teacher's convention.

You most likely will have the option to do MNSSHP, which I would highly recommend.

The weather that week was beautiful for us, this year - we would have been dealing with Wilma.

The thing I would be most cautious about - while WDW is not overly crowded - and we flew from Milwaukee to Orlando - and the flights were jam packed. So while the rest of the nation was not necessarily at WDW that week - many people from WI go. I would plan the flights as early as you can. The closer you get - they will only be more expensive. (We made our flight ressies in December before our October trip. - but we got 3 free tickets due to airline frequent flier programs.)

Ours was last week, MN is always the 3rd week in October for planning purposes.

Same here! Start Aug. 10th and no break until Thanksgiving except for Labor Day for teachers. UGH!

Ours in Maryland is the Friday that is a full week (usually) before Halloween. We only get off that one day. Our Reading was just there Oct. 8 - 15 & said it was "packed". We never go in October because of the threat of Hurricanes.
