Do you have big boys?

My oldest ds has always been a big guy. At 13 he was already taller than me and in a size 12 shoe. Now at 16 he is over 6ft tall and the last shoes we bought him were a 16 :faint:
My 14 yr old is 5'4 and is up to a shoe size 11. I dont think he will be as tall, or have as big feet, as my oldest but looks like he is coming close.
Im only 5'3 and my x is 5'6--but everyone else in his family was tall.
Now my dh is 5'11 so Im interested to see how the little ones will be. My 4 yr old is 42inches and wears a 12.5 shoe. I think its close to average but I have had a coupleof people tell me he is tall and had big feet for his age.

I don't have boys, I have girls. They are both very thin, but we are sure they'll be fairly tall.......at least 5'9". They've got tallness on both sides of the family. However, I'm not very tall.. only 5'5".

I'm 5'8", DH was 5'8", pediatrician says expect DS to be 6'2" or 6'3". :faint: He's always been in the 95th percentile on the charts for EVERYTHING! At one point, he was off the chart! :faint: The pediatrician said that DS was "in the ozone layer." :teeth:

My oldest DS, now 3, was 9 lbs 10 oz. at birth, and 23" long - he's always been off the charts for height, but average for weight recently, he's not a big eater . The doctors have said he may be anywhere from 5' 10" to over 6 feet. My DH is 5-10, and I'm 5-3, so not sure where the tallness comes from. My youngest was 22 " at birth, and at 1 yr old, is 95% for height, and 75% for weight... he's at the fun age where he eats everything in sight and isn't picky, yet. I know it's just a matter of time...

My DS is normal height - I guess, he's 7 and 4'6" we'll see how tall he ends up getting, none of the men in my family are under 6'3".

Now DD #1, she's huge! She's two and a half and 40 inches tall, she's been in the >95th% for as long as I can remember. She's 50th% for weight though.

My Grandma nearly went broke raising her three boys, my uncles are 6'6", 6'5", and 6'6" and there were the two girls who are both 5'10". Grandpa would come home for lunch and the boys would beat him to the fridge, an entire ham would be gone. They've finally slowed down on the food though, about 12 years ago they showed up at Grandmas for my aunts wedding at 3am and cleared Grandmas fridge before heading to Denny's for breakfast. :earseek: :earseek:

I am 5'5, DH is 5'8. DD is 5'2. DS is now 6'3, 215 lbs and 17 so could still grow. He takes after my grandfather's side they were the only tall ones. We've got the petite DD, huge DS and no one
has the same color eyes. I have light brown, DH has dark brown, DD green, DS blue. We all look like the milkman!

DH is 5'9" and I am 5'3", and we are the parents of two tall skinny boys!! DS#1 is 5 years old and 44" tall and weighs 42 pounds. DS#2 is 19 months and 34" tall and weighs 27 pounds. They were both fairly big babies, 8-2 and 9-6, so I'm not surprised something about them is big. I think it's cool, being a short person!

My husband is 6' but I'm 5'3". I never imagined that my boys would be taller than my husband.

How tall are your boys or girls?

How do you FEED them without going broke?

Lori:p

When my husband was little his ped told his mom he was going to be over 6 feet. He grew and grew, was 5'7" by 6th grade..and has not grown since. LOL
My Dad is 6'4", my Mom was 5', I am 5'4" and my brothers are 5'9" and 5'10", so no one is taller than my Dad.

My older DS (18) is 6' tall. He grew 6 inches in one year between 8th and 9th grade to 5'10". While he was away at college last year, he grew to 6'. Must be all that great college food! He weighs about 155 lbs but he is a good eater-grazing all day and eating fairly good meals. He was in a size 13 shoe by age 14. Luckily his feet stopped growing. Younger DS (14) is 5'6" and is an eating machine. He was on the heavy side but doing winter and spring track really slimmed him down as well as growing 3" this year. I notice the grocery bills go way up when older DS is home from college but I don't mind because I really like to have him home!

DS is over 6 foot and he is 15  We have a hard time feeding all the wrestling team ...........Try that
Its about those size 13 shoes I cant find them anywhere

DD is 5'6
I am 5'8 and the ex husband was only 5'7

Older DS is 6'2" & younger DS is 6 feet even. They are in their early 20's - so they are done growing! DH is just a smidge shy of 6 ft and I'm 5'3". They were big eaters at times growing up. I don't remember any unusual amount of food getting consumed though!

I think when older DS was one year old, the pediatrition used a formula with his birth length and his height at one year to predict that he would hit 6 feet tall. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

My DS is 6 and he's 4ft 2in and wears size 5 shoes. He was 10lb 5 oz at birth, and has always been in the 95-100% in height. He's normal weight though (kind of getting skinny in the last few months actually...) I'm 5ft8 and his father is 6ft7! Isaiah's taking after his dad, who played college basketball, I'm pointing him in the direction of the NBA though, I need a new car LOL :teeth:

I will never forget the Dr. appointment about 4 years ago. My one son grew 4 inches and gained 25 lbs in that one year.

The first words out of my mouth were "OMG, that's why no matter how much food I buy there is never a drop of anything to eat or drink in this house"

I'm 5'3" and DH is 5'11". Brad is 6'3". He's worn a size13 shoe for a very long time. My boys eat all the time. Everyday is grocery day.:D

OMG, you should see the boys in DH's family!!!

DFIL is about 6', Bil #1 is 6'1", DH is 6'3"

DNph#1 (21 yo) is 6'2" and about 160lbs if he is lucky :teeth:
DNph#2 (almost 16) is now officially the biggest boy and he is still growing, 6'4" but under 200lbs.
DNph#3 (almost 9) is already close to 5'

The funny thing is all the girls, DD included, are little! One DNiece is 10 and much smaller than the 9 yo DNph. DD is 4 and only 39" and 34lbs.

I think I am glad that I have a Pixie and not one of the behemouths!!!! :teeth:

I too am 5'3". My ex is 6'1". I have a 21 yr old DAUGHTER who is 6'1-1/2" tall. My 17 yr old son is approaching 6'

Both my parents were tall, Mom was 5'10" & Dad is 6'1'. And I have 5 big brothers, ranging in heights from 6' to 6'4". I am the shorted in my family, I guess I get it from my 2 shorts grandmothers!!!

My son is 14 and just had his yearly physical. He is 5 foot 9 inches and weighs 190 already. He has always been a bruiser with his size and he definately eats a lot when he wants to. Last night, we went out to Red Lobster for dinner. He ordered the meal with lobster tail, crab legs, scampi, and something else I can't remember. He downed all of them in one breath and then he finished the rest of my scampi I could not eat. He said he was still hungry when he was done! We also had appetizers and salads with their yummy bread. He ate a lot there, too!

I'm not so sure there is any real accurate prediction for height.
One thing I can be sure and pass on to you from experience:

Start your college fund now for all children
Start your food fund for any DS's NOW!!!!! You won't regret it.:teeth: (You may have to borrow from the college fund for the food fund)::yes::

I had to laugh reading your post. My DS, 15 loves Red Lobster. It is probably in the top 10 for him. He gets the all you can eat crab legs there and keeps the waiter very busy. He will get at least 6-8 plates of crab legs! The waiter can't believe it but my son can eat his weight in them. And my son loves what he calls their Cheesy Bisquits. He inhales at least 10 of those through the meal. What is with boys and Red Lobster? LOL!
