I got the 30GB video when it first came out. I have a 2 hour commute each way and it makes it much easier. They work so flawlessly with itunes (my husband has spent hours and hours trying to convince my mother's "other brand" MP3 player to play nice with her computer) that I don't think they are overpriced or overrated. I'm willing to pay for something that works so well as my time is very precious nowadays.

Amen to that. My DH got me an MP3 player last Christmas with a built-in radio transmitter so I could listen to anything through my radio that was on my player. Very cool. Except....it was next to impossible to get my downloaded songs to go into a format that the MP3 player would accept.

So, this year Santa brought me the iPod video. It is sooooo much easier and that means that there is a much greater probability that I will actually use it. DH got last year's MP3 player since he could figure it out. :)

I love this thing. I've been downloading video podcasts from iTunes, and I have transferred my CDs to my ipod. The sound quality is incredible. Yo Yo Ma never sounded so good. :)

I just got the ipod nano for christmas. I am not sure how to work it yet but I am excited I can`t wait to use it when I walk in the morning.

The guys at Best Buy and Circuit City were advising us AGAINST buying an IPOD 30 GB due to the amount of returns they were getting (this was several weeks before Christmas) and the amount of complaints coming in.

They wouldn't come out and tell us, it's only when we would inquire about them that they'd unload on their dislike for the IPOD!

So we bought my son a 20 GB Mp3 player (iAudio) that is working beautifully with absolutely no problems at all AND we aren't stuck using exclusively itunes either! The videos downloaded so far look great! It is relatively easy to use as well, at least my 14 y.o. doesn't have any problems! Oh yeah, and it was about $50 cheaper too!

I have a 30 GB iPod Photo (an earlier model) that I absolutely *love*. I have about 5,000 tunes on it right now and have no problems with it. I do have some 3rd party software that I use to be able to take songs off the iPod as opposed to just being able to put them onto it. Came in handy when I had to rebuild my laptop recently.

A brand new video Ipod owner here :teeth: I have wanted one for so long and DW gave me one yesterday. Unfortunately, I don't have the appropriate version of Windows, so until I can get off of Windows98SE, my Ipod will be a sparkling little gem on the coffee table.

I have a white 20G photo Ipod, my dh has a silver 6G Ipod mini, my oldest ds has a 6g blue ipod mini and my middle ds has a green 4G Ipod mini.

Now we just have to figure out how to share the music I have already purchased on Itunes.

Put me in the 'no Ipod' category. I'm always either home, at work or in my car. All of those places have music available if I want it. When I'm anywhere other than those 3 places, I don't want or need music. So what do I need an Ipod, or any other portable music player, for? I'd never use the thing.

I have a nano, and I bought DS14 a nano for Christmas. My mom bought my dad the 30gig ipod for Christmas.

I'm somewhat confused on how to load different songs onto different ipods though, and not sure why people say you can't remove songs. If you uncheck them and re-synch, don't they come off? I mean, when I reach my limit, that's it? I'm stuck with those songs?

So would the 79% of you who have one answer a question for the 21% who don't. When and where do you use your Ipod? I honestly can't think of anywhere I would use the thing where I don't already have access to music.

1)Planes

2)Cars...I'm not stuck listening to commercial radio with the same songs over and over. I can listen to what I want to hear. I do have to a cd player in the car but that means burning cd's and my ipod holds so much more and I can create playlist.

3)Skiing...the trip up the ski lift is long and boring

In my car. I have the FM attachment so it plays wirelessly through my radio. That way, I can download my favorite songs, radio shows I don't get in my area, and all of my kids' CDs we listen to in the car and have them on one device. As it was, the CDs were getting lost, scratched, etc.

I have a pink mini, and I got my dh the black ipod 4G video for Christmas. He had an older mp3, and the iPod is just so much easier to download and organize music into. Now if I can just get him off of iTunes....

Working out (I have an armband it attaches to when I'm running), in the car with the FM transmitter dock, and through my stereo in my house. Not to mention all the songs I download are in my computer, so I can listen that way and burn all the cd's I want.

Ditto! Though listening while walking/working out is the #1 use of mine. I gave DH a portable speaker station for his. He has been taking it to work and hooking it up to his computer speakers. The docking station is much better! He also got a new car stereo that came with a cable to plug it in. :) So versatile.

My DD has two mini iPods. I thought DH had lost her original one, so he replaced it. I found it several weeks later in my mini-van- ooops.

DD and I got shinny new 30gb Ipods. :cool1: We love them. As for where we use them that we don't already have music, WDW is the first place that comes to mind. Then there is walking, the beach, when riding in the car and 3 people wanting to listen to 3 different kinds of music. :rotfl:
