I was thinking about Christmas trees, and well, favorite ornaments.

What is yours?

In my parents house, they have a set of ornaments they got in Germany over thirty years ago. I love these, and would love to have them someday... they are silver with a white snowflake pattern etched on them.

They have had these ornaments since before I was born. They lived in Germany from 1967-1970 or so, in essence they have been around since I was born...

The style of their tree has changed, but these ornaments have always always been there...

They also have some early 70's Snoopy ornaments, which are really funny as well. One is Snoopy as the Red Baron, and another is Snoopy coming out of the doghouse licking at snowflakes with his tongue...

An angel tree topper with a porcelain head. She dates back to the 1920's and has been passed through the family and is now in my custody. Her dress and wings are a bit distressed after all these years but someday I'll take her in to a doll doctor for advice.

Pin Wizard, what kind of bells?

I have some bells that are glass and they are my favorite.

Oh my goodness!!! Did you live in my house growing up???? I was born in Germany in 1967 and have these same ornaments from my mom on my tree!!!!:D

I also have lots of snoopy ornaments from the early 70's. Those are my favorites from childhood.

Too funny JAP.. actually my sister and I were born in the states, but my dad was still in Germany.

They are gorgeous aren't they? I love them....

my christmas tree is filled with frame ornaments~I love them sooooo much because they are my kids growing up over the years.

Gotta be Darth Vader - dang! I can't remember what he says, but I got two - one for each DS!
The Star Trek one is cool - Spock saying "Spock here - happy holidays, live long & prosper"!

(OK - so very un-Christmas-y! I'll post again once I get out my ornaments & re-acquaint myself with the antique ones!)

My most precious tree ornament is from my family tree when I was a little girl. It's a glass silver and blue bird with a tail made from something...brushlike type of stuff. :D I was always allowed to put the bird wherever I wanted to on the tree, it was "my special ornament." Then when my parents no longer put up a big tree Mom gave the bird to me. But I hated the fact that they stopped putting up a tree so I bought one of those small, tabletop trees and some decorations and gave that to them. Right in front was the "bird ornament." :) Mom put the tree up for a few years but then stopped so she gave the bird back to me again. It now has a special place of honor, right at eye level in the front of our tree. I would cry if it ever broke!!

My favorite ones are clear, different sizes, and hang on the outside of a a little silver cord. They lean on each other and look great. I've had those many years, since I lived home with my parents.
I have another set of 3. They are clear, fluted round the bottom edge (where the others are straight) and hang nested in each other, each one coming down from inside the previous one. They have a gorgeous mauve ribbon tied to a bow with little white pearly looking things and a flower. I leave that one hanging year-round. That one reminds me of my husband. :teeth:
They're both made of glass.

I love these, too!!

I have Michael every year since he was 11 months old and my Mom still has one of me when I was in the third grade! ( I was missing my two front teeth so you know what I wanted for Christmas!)

One of my favorites is the gingerbread girl ornament that my kindergarten teacher made for me. It is over 20 years old and is falling apart, but I love it.

Gotta be Darth Vader - dang! I can't remember what he says
D has a separate Star Wars tree. Are you talking about the Hallmark Ornament that is dated 1997? If so, he says:"The Force is with you, young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet!"

My favorite is my Christopher Radko cinderella's castle ornament
I love all my ornaments but especially the Christopher Radko ones
I have an obsession with ornaments
every year I buy more and more
I actually need two trees to use all of them now
