Do you have a vacation planed

You will love PR. I lived there for a while as a kid, and went back several years ago to vacation. Be sure to visit El Yunque Rainforest and the old spanish forts, El Morro and San Cristobal.

Yes, we do love it there. This will be our third time to go because we just cannot get enough of it. I do not think we will get to El Yunque on this trip because I do not think we will be getting a rental car. Since we will be staying in San Juan the taxis can take us to Old San Juan so we can tour there and see the forts again. Getting to El Yunque is not possible with a taxi. It would require a rental car. We do plan to go tarpon fishing on this trip. We did that on our first trip and had a blast. We plan to do that again. Also, DH plans to go diving.
Do you have any specific shops in Old San Juan or San Juan that you particularly recommend?

Let us know how this goes -- we are looking at going here or Los Cabos for spring break next year and havent decided which. Puerto rico would be cheaper for us!

You can see in my post just above this one that we love Puerto Rico. This is our third trip there. We just cannot get enough of it and keep returning.
As MomofKatie posted, you should definitely see El Yunque Rainforest and the old spanish forts, El Morro and San Cristobal. I also recommend a trip to bioluminescenct bay and Balneario Luquillo beach. At Blaneario Luquillo there are many kiosks where you can buy the tasty local food. It is a busy beach, though, so expect crowds.

We have just one vacation scheduled for later this year. We did WDW in Jan and Palm Springs in March. In Sept/Oct, we will be spending 2 weeks in Hawaii; 4 nights in Waikiki and the rest in Kauai. Am saving my pennies for Hawaii, and doubt we will be able to afford any more trips this year.

My parents have a cabin, and we will spend quite a few weekends there into the fall. Other than the gas to get to/from, and food costs, it's free but still a nice and relaxing get away from home. I also have a few crowd cut/living social/trubates certificates for travel that I'll use for quick weekend getaways. We got back yesterday from a two night resort stay.

Going to Vegas this summer with hubby, staying at New York New York, then on a solo trip to disney this coming December.

We are going to England for a week in June for a family wedding, but we will also spend some time in London.

In August, we are going on the Dream for a 4 day cruise followed by a 4 day stay at POR. We are going to SeaWorld, Aquatica, and I think a day at Blizzard Beach...no Disney parks this trip...

Then in December for Winter Break (DH and I are both teachers so we can only go then) are going to WDW from the 25-30th. The kids don't know about this trip yet, and we can't decide if we should tell them ahead of time or wait until it is time to leave the night of the 24th (we drive from Philly) and surprise them!

I feel your pain. I teach too, and I hate being locked in to traveling at only the busiest and most expensive times of the year.

Anyway, we have a trip planned in July, 8 days in the Smoky Mountains with my entire extended family, all in one cabin. I'm sure it will rival any of the Griswold family trips. :)

We are also going to WDW for 11 days right after Christmas, so I guess we will see you there! I haven't been down there in December in about 25 years. I have no idea what to expect weather wise, but it has to be better than Chicago in December.
