Do you have a Self-Cleaning Oven?

I do, but have not used this feature on it yet. Going to try it out soon. For those of you that do have this feature how do you like it? Does it take a long time for it to clean? My book is not the best on giving info about this feature.

I have a newer home (2000) and we have a double convection oven (Thermador). It takes 3 hours and locks until done. My DH came home one day and freaked! He thought I was going to burn the house down.

So, I don't use it.

Mine is a 3 hour cycle too. You have to lock the oven to start it. It works wonderfully, I REALLY love this feature. Just a warning the first time I ever used it, there was a small flare up. I got scared and turned if off.......I called customer service and they said this was ok....Once that spill burned off..........everything was fine. I have never had another flare up...hehe maybe cause I clean it more often like I should

I love mine. I usually will clean up any crumbs and sponge up any major spills before using it to cut down on any smoke. If you oven is really dirty, it will smoke -- open a window. I recommend removing the racks before running it. You can leave them in, but you'll find that they don't glide as smoothly after the cleaning cycle.

Mine takes 3 hours as well to clean and it stays locked for quite a while after it is finished until it is totally cooled down. We have a Frigadaire Dual Fuel convection oven.

I have a double convection Thermador too, how do you turn on the self clean oven? I haven't figured it out! LOL!
