Ours is 7.5 x 13...we have the W/D alomg the 13' wall, next to them the sink, next to that is a 60" counter and upper and lower cabinet. A door to the backyard, and then along the other wall (across from w/d wa;

all of our animal cages etc, backpacks storage etc. While I love having the back door, I wish I had a window over the sink, and we may add one. Also the drain in the floor is also under the sink, and I wish we had one on the other side of the room for when the kids take off their winter snowclothes so the drying rack would drain right into that floor area. We have hard wood tho, so tile would be better for that. We have a triple floodlight light for brightness so I can see stains etc., and for using the laundry sink for cleaning tha animals, cages etc. That is one thing I suggest no matter what the size room, great lighting and a sink/ I paint and am ALWAYS cleaning brushes etc in there.We did not do this, but wish we had...when we were having th cabinets installed, we should have had a custom 72" or taller one built for putting you vacuum cleaner, brooms etc in. Everything looks so much nice when put "behind doors". Our future plan is to install a hinged counter top where the animal cages are, one that folds flat against the wall when not in use, for crafts, etc. I use the current counter for folding laundry, holding laundry baskets, excess pantry items...and when we have a party we usually set up bar there, because of the indoor/outdoor access to the yard. We made a point of having our laundry room off the kitchen as I do not care for the gas smells from the garage. dirt etc., when trying to get clothes clean. So I feel like it is more of the house than an extension of the garage. Considering how much time I spend doing laundry, using that room, I don't think I culd ever give it up. When DH had a an out of state job offer this spring, we nosed around a bit, and NONE of the house had laundry rooms...just laundry closets or in the garages. While we would have adjusted, it really jumped out at me how much I love ours.
