Tradition? On your trips to WDW do you have something that you do each time on your first day?We always arrive on a Sunday and we always go to HDDR in the evening. Then take the hayride after HDDR,then Walk down to beach and watch the Electric Water Parade. So do you have a tradition that you do?We go first part of Dec each year and this is how we start our holiday trip. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

You bet! On our first full day we start off with breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. This year we are breaking that tradition. We are leaving on 11/25 and another couple is joining us on 11/27, so we're going to kick off thier first morning with that! It's such a great way to start! Other traditions include seeing the last showing of Hoop-De-Doo one day.

We go to the Boardwalk, and have our first meal at Big River Grill and Brewing. DH just LOVES the beer sampler! :drinking1

We go to DTD, have dinner and walk around and look through all of the shops. It really gets us in the Disney Mood, plus I can scope out all of the stuff that I want to buy! ;)

I am starting a tradition with this coming trip. We drive down from Ohio, so we usually arrive at about 2:00 in the afternoon. Since I am ususally really tired from driving, we are going to explore our resort after unpacking and eat in the food court. No parks, no dinner shows, no resort hopping, no shopping. Just take in the resort, take lots of pictures, maybe go for a swim in the pool, check out the surroundings, maybe ride the boat to and from POFQ, but that's it. Just relax and get to know our resort before we start in on the park hopping and character meals. Since we drive, I usually count that day as a travel day anyway.

We are in the car by 5 am, stop at a dunkin dounuts drive thru for a on the road caffiene/ sugar jolt and see if we cant make the 4 hour trip from miami to orlando/ kissimmee. If we can, we may or may not stop at the hotel to pre-register (let them know that we are claiming our room, not cancelling) Then on to the MK  :cloud9: By then, if we didnt wimp out and stop for food & bathroom on the way, we usually stop for potty/ food before crossing through the castle to fantasy land. Just thinking about doing this with my DD8months princess: for the first time gives me chills!!! (she will most likely be 2 and 3 months at the time)I can hardly wait :cool1:

We usually arrive mid-day after our flight in. First we check into our resort. The first park we head to is always EPCOT with the first ride (our DD's favorite), always Spaceship Earth. We always enjoy our evening meal in EPCOT, and enjoy Illuminations before returning to our room for the evening. It makes for a long day since our flight from home usually leaves around 7:00am Central time, but we love that first "rush" of being at Disney. ::MinnieMo

We always have our first meal at Chef Mickey's on arrival night. Our family rule is that even if we don't enter the Magic Kingdom on the first day, we must at least see the castle before we feel we're officially on vacation. :)

We always go to Magic Kingdom and ride Pirates of the Caribbean first. Then we will eat at Columbia Harbour House for our first meal.

The TTA is always our first ride. And the first night we always eat at Cosmic Ray's- can you tell we like Tomorrowland? lol

Our first park day we always have to go to MK, and we always have to ride Pirates of the Carribean first!

Our first park day is always Magic Kingdom, and we like to ride Peter Pan first - with Small World as a close second!

We always spend the first evening at the resort pool just soaking in the atmosphere and pinching ourselves! :goodvibes

Sure do!

(We arrive on a Saturday.)
Check-in at the Poly.
Lunch at the Kona Cafe.
Spend the afternoon at the pool (drinkin' Lava Flows and Pina Coladas).
Dinner at Chef Mickey's.
Watch EWP from the Poly dock.
Get to bed so we are ready for our first park day on Sunday (MK).

On the day of arrival it's dinner at Chef Mickey. Our first day at the park starts at the MK with a walk up mainstreet. Depending on the crowd we either stay at MK or go to another park after that. :earboy2:

I love reading all these First Day Traditions.

We don't really have a Tradition. We usually come in in the morning. Stop at the store for water on the way to the resort. Check-in & unpack the bare minimum, then head for the Park. We usually wind up at Epcot first. When DS was younger, MK first.

We arrive in the evening, check into the hotel. Then it's off to DTD for dinner and an evening of humor at the Adventurer's Club, not to mention a few drinks.

The next morning we do AK since it's our least favorite, we get Kilamanjaro and Dinosaur done quickly.

It usually starts with a monorail ride, up front if possible. Then a meal at one of the monorail resorts, checking out the Christmas decorations and ending the evening with a cocktail watching the MK fireworks.

I usually arrive around 10am so I'm at the resort by noon. My room is never ready, so I hop over to Epcot and ride Space Ship Earth :)
