Do you have a favourite inlaw?

Silly question I guess, but dh's Aunt called last night ( shes only about 10 years older then we are lol) and I was reminded how much I love this woman!!

She is the BEST! Shes funny, caring, dependable, and just a blast to be around!

I dont know theres just something a person who calls you and says " HEY Girl!!" LOL unfortunately I dont ever get to see her since we moved. They live in Eastern Canada so its kind of hard to get together but we talk on the phone and email a lot.


So I think she wins the bid for my favourite Inlaw.

I did -- it was my FIL.

Now, it would have to be my BIL, who I have the most in common with, golf with, help each other around our houses, etc.

I love my SIL as if she were my own sister, does that count?

In fact, I adore her entire family. Her parents brought their 9 children over from Italy when Giovanna was 13 years old, so they have interesting stories to tell about assimilating to American life. They are a very warm and welcoming family - very much like my own family. I feel very comfortable when I go visit my brother and SIL - they always have parties and get togethers that involve her extended family, and I feel right at home. DH had to get used to them, they are very demonstrative (again, a lot like my family, I think its an Italian thing!), but he loves them as much as I do now.

I have one SIL that I love like a sister! In fact, when we were younger, people thought we were sisters! We have the same coloring (hair & eyes) and have the same build.

I met her through my now DH, and at first we didn't like each other. But as time went by, and we got to know each other better, we became best friends. She was also the maid of honor at our wedding and she and her DH our the Godparents to my younger son.

Both my MIL and FIL are terrific! They are so loving and caring. My MIL can be a little overbearing sometimes, but in a good way. She wants to help and usually knows pretty much about many things. She is VERY LOVING to our DD and treats each of her 21 grandchildren as very special.

My FIL tends to go off on tangents and sometimes can be in the same room as everyone else, but in his "own little world" (deep thinker), but is such a wonderful man! I can see a lot of my DH in him.

Since my own mother is pretty much out of our lives (in the emotional sense) and was never very much of a mother nor a grandmother, I cherish the fact that my in-laws are wonderful people and I'm very thankful for them! They are not self-centered and are always there for us!

I have a great sil. She is funny and nice. I really love her entire family. My bil is my dh brother. I do like him but Im much closer to sil. And they have 2 great kids--my only neice and nephew.

I LOVE my FIL. He is great! He is funny and cracks me up all the time. Also, DH's grandmother who is 99. I love her too.

My unfavorite has to be my MIL - she is just plain mean!!

My very favorite is my h's little sister. She lives in another state, but I would do anything for her.

I have a very good set of in-laws, but my favorite is my SIL. She's stood by us during very difficult times and has a remarkable generosity and loving attitude. She's wonderful.

Mine would be DH's step-MIL (his father's wife). I think both of us get along best with her. She's closer to our age and she really has helped to mediate some of the problems between DH and his parents in the past. She can see how sometimes her husband puts DH in a difficult situation when it comes to DH's mother.

I get along great with my MIL!

My SIL and I are starting to develop a good friendship. She is getting married next August and has asked me to help with the wedding plans. And ever since DD was born she has sent me Mother's Day cards. I think it is really sweet!

On dh's side of the family no, if you ever met them you would know why. On my side I only have a BIL and he will do anything you need for you, he's very funny too!

No not at all. There is no one on DH side that I can even call a friend let alone a favorite.

Well...it was my MIL until she came to visit us for almost 3 weeks. No, she is still my favorite, next time I will just limit the visit to 1 week.
