Do you have a countdown song/routine???

We are so excited!!! Our Disney trip is 36 days away, and every morning (since day 60 or so) we sing "Zip-a-dee-do-da, zip-a-dee-a, we're going to Disney in [insert #] days!"

Does anyone else have a countdown song or routine?

A few years ago my kids made a WDW countdown calendar starting with 100 days - a lot of fun!

We also tend to blast the music from the Epcot Millenium CD (Illuminations and Tapestry of Nations Parade) every morning to wake up during the week before the trip!

We cut out in all different colors 101 Mickey heads and taped them on the wall in the kitchen. Each morning the kids take turns taking one down. We only have 56 left.

I surprised my DH with this one year. I used this glass paint that is removable to make a 30 day countdown. Every night we took a number off until there were no more

It's only gotten more elaborate as time has gone on. We now have a little song, etc. It is so much fun to do. Especially when the days are so hectic and it's really gets us pumped up. We can't wait for DD to join in the fun.

I made a chart on 2 pieces of paper with different characters in each box and the countdown numbers for the kids to check off (and learn characters) each day.

I've been listening to "Wishes" every morning on the way to work. It is the exact time as my drive!!!! I love it!!! It gets me excited about my day...cuz I know I'm one less day to Disney World!!!

The kids and I made a paper chain with a link for each day until we leave. Every morning they race to see who can take off the next link. We made the chain with different colours, 5 links of each colour, so that when the kids are counting them they can figure it out more easily. Plus, it's teaching my little ones to count by 5's. Can you tell I'm a teacher? LOL

We made up a countdown song to 99 bottles of beer on the wall. 99 days to disney world, 99 days till disney, etc. It is really fun. We started on the 99th day 90 days ago, now we are down to 9!!!

Thanks for reviving this thread weluvmnsshp! What a nice surprise when I checked my e-mails this morning! When I first posted I was at 36 days and today it's half of that -- ONLY 18 DAYS!!! We were screaming the song this morning for all to hear. The kids (ok, me too) are getting SO EXCITED!!!

I make a HUGE calander that fills our dining room wall. DD puts up one Mickey head everyday to count down. I can't believe when we started we had 180 days to fill and now we're down to 16 days until departing!!!! I think I repack our suitcases at least twice a day...

Hey - We did that one too. Abby gets to tear off a link each day. The feedback to the amount of chain helps correspond to the number of days remaining written on the link.

I love to put in Disney CD's in the car! My DH kind of rolls his eyes that I play that in the car on every ride now. I LOVE Disney music. It is really fun that my DS knows the music too. He lights up when he recognizes the songs playing at WDW (he's a toddler).
I bought Wishes on Amazon, and I bought Disney Mania 3 now on sale at Target.
My Mom used to sing the Zipity doo dah song every morning when she woke us up and opened the curtains in our room. That song always makes me smile. My parents are joining us on this trip...maybe I can coax her into singing it again for me even though it's been twenty years since those days!

We're down to 10 more also!!! I Can not believe it. My three year old was so excited this morning when I showed him that he could count the days down on his fingers.

I have changed one of the text message presets in my cellphone from Where is the meeting to Where is the Mickey. I periodically send it to my brother at work. Only 13 more days!!!!
