Do you have a cleaning lady?

I had one for about a year after having my second child. It was a wonderful gift that my husband allowed me to have. I agree, there is nothing like walking in to a clean, fresh house.

Clutter? When my cleaner couldn't figure out where things went, she would place them in a laundry basket. I ended up with a basement of laundry baskets. :rotfl2:

I have someone come once per month. We're pretty neat, so I don't really have to tidy up before she comes, but even if I had the money for her to come twice per month, I don't think I'd do it . . . I just don't think anyone can get my house as clean as me -- so, of course, there is the normal/daily/weekly cleaning kind of stuff -- and once per month, I do a deep cleaning and once per month, she does a 'deepsih' cleaning.

For those of you who have housekeepers do the laundry, I could not do that! Are you just talking sheets or the kids' clothes or your clothes/undergarments, too?

My MIL had a cleaning lady, came every Wednesday. Every Tuesday my MIL would spend 3 hours cleaning BEFORE the cleaning lady came. Never understood that.

Never been an option for DW and I, we live pay check to pay check, so not in the budget.

Yes. She comes in every 2 weeks. Dusts, mops, vacuums, sweeps, deep cleans, etc. I do the laundry and dishes. We also have a landscaper.

The only thing I have to do is make sure things aren't cluttered. That's not a real challenge, anyway. We run a pretty tight ship!

I do have a cleaning lady, it's me. We also have a laundry fairy guess who that is.......yup.....ME! Maybe someday..... :rotfl2:

That would be me. Sigh.

Wish I had one. I told my husband if I ever went back to work full time, he'd better be prepared for me to hire a cleaning lady because I'm done with doing it all.

Nope. :) No one can clean my house as well as I can.

And I really don't mind it. :)

Question: Do you talk to other people about having a maid or cleaning service? :confused3

When I had someone, I would mention it to my friends if it was relevant. I know people who I am almost positive must have someone clean for them. No one ever says anything. I think it is a bit pompous to take credit for something you don't do. Of course, I suppose there are those who feel it is pompous to mention that you have "help".

I work 60+ hour work weeks and my husband works and goes to grad school, so our cleaning ladies are worth the cost of my sanity. I need both a clean home and sleep to function! They come in once a week and are here for an afternnoon. They're extremely trustworthy and worth every penny .

As some others have stated, it really helps with the clutter. You are forced to get rid of it on a weekly basis. She also deep cleans the bathrooms, kithcen and our floors, that is the biggest help. I love her:love:
