Do you hate "waiting" for things?

Waiting for the snow to start - and the power to go out.. It's driving me nuts! I positively hate "waiting" for anything - would rather it just happen and be done with.. Grrrrr...

I made two pots of coffee and put them in thermoses, but by morning they'll probably only be lukewarm... Put the flannel sheets on my bed and got out a ton of extra blankets.. Flashlight right next to the bed..

Have my clothes laid out for the morning - 2 pair of stirrup pants, a regular pair of pants and my wind breaker pants.. 3 pair of socks and a pair of leg warmers.. Tee shirt, flannel shirt, sweatshirt and quilted flannel jacket.. (Hat and gloves on standby if it's really frigid when I wake up..)

I hope the predictions are wrong - and I don't lose power - but let's face it - up here in the mountains a mosquito flies by too fast and the power goes out..

Guess it's better to be "over-prepared" rather than "under-prepared" - right?

Gonna go crawl in bed with my book now...

If anyone is delivering coffee up this way in the morning, I take mine very light and very sweet!!

I'm confused...I grew up in Northern Minnesota and don't ever remember the power going out in a snowstorm..and we had some bad winters!

But you DO sound very prepared!

We've lost power in ice storms, mainly when tree branches break, falling on power lines. Guess this time of the year that could also happen with heavy, wet snow falling on trees that haven't lost all their leaves. Around here the trees have almost all their leaves (no snow, thank goodness), but not sure of the status of the tree leaves in places that will be getting snow.

but I know you are MUCH higher in elevation than me
and i havn't ventured out to Mom's yet to see

Yipeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Power is still on and not ONE flake of snow!!!!!!! Nothing makes me happier than the weatherman being wrong!! LOL

Looks like the southern section of the state really took the hit.. Norwich (where my son-in-law's friend has his summer place) got an amazing 10 inches!

It's still pretty darn cold here - and the rest of the week the overnight lows are supposed to be in the 20's - but we dodged the bullet.. By the end of the week I'll be all packed up and out of here.. Somehow I don't think that "Indian Summer" I've been holding out for is going to come..

They're still saying "wet snow" for today - possible accumulation of one inch - but now I don't believe them.. LOL Right now it's not even raining anymore, but VERY cold out there..

I really hate to go home - but I don't want to go through another scare like that again either.. Gotta give it up at some point in time - might as well be this week..

we used to live up by Chicago and every time the wind blew we lost power..... it became a joke, we had some neighbors who finally caught on......we always had extra candles to give them......glad to hear no snow, I'm not ready for that either.
