Do you guys think this is gross?

We leave for Disney in 2 days and I just had to post that my hubby is right now giving the bathrooms a top to bottom cleaning. He knows that I like the house to be clean before we leave and I have other things to do. Did I mention what a wonderful husband I have!! I never brag, but....AND he'a as big a Disney fan as I am!!

As for the OP, no I don't think that the conversation should have been in earshot of guests, but I think you would be surprised how many resorts do this. Sometimes they are short-staffed. Keeping unoccupied rooms uncleaned for a day or so gives the staff time.

I think it is a fairly common practice in the hotel business to not clean all the checkout rooms when there is a light load of check ins coming in.

Yep, doesn't surprise me at all that they leave them go for a day, but that didn't seem to be the jest of the conversation. I guess it's like thinking about the bedspreads not being changed after every guest it's just kinda yucky.... to me anyway.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one that cleans before I leave but I think coming home is hard enough if I had to look at a dirty house too I would really boo hoo.

Definitely gross that they had the conversation in front of you & others in the lounge.

But as others have mentioned they do leave some "check-out"rooms if the load is light as far as check-ins, and they need to get the occupied rooms cleaned ASAP.

Interesting topic though as far as the germs are considered, I too, clean the house before we leave, even though I know the dust will accumulate-lol!

However, I think we are getting a bit "germophobic" & after attending a medical conference in Boston this weekend that talked about the "healthy hypothesis" (we are too worried about getting rid of all the germs, but some germs help us to fight off infection & we are getting rid of those too) I think I might re-think my use of antibacterial soaps and sanitizing lotions, etc.. Just my .02!
