Hi,

I booked my January package with AAA this week. And although, I got AAA discount, I am still hoping for a code at a later date.

Do you guys think that any will be released for the Fall or Winter? Any rumors of any? A girl can always dream...

Thanks!! :wave2:

about rates after the first week of October. Not only did the dining promotion end that week but also all of the Disney Visa promotions (discount at World of Disney, etc.).

Yes, I think there will be something (because there almost always is)- just don't know what it will be :)

I would rather see a good room only code because I'd like to split our stay between a couple of resorts and that doesn't work so well with the ticket prices in a package. I'm not confident about that happening though as it hasn't been the trend lately. I'd be happy with free dining and one hotel in a package though, or some similar deal with significant savings. I'd love to see 7 nights for the price of 4 again! I know travel picked up from post 9/11 levels but I'm now wondering if the London attacks will have people backing off somewhat again?

I'd be really surprised if there isn't something released by the end of August for the late Fall. Don't think you'd see anything for Jan '06 until late in 2005 (a pain to wait I know). Without a better deal we'd still go with a AAA discount but it would make a difference in the level of hotel we book (probably a moderate rather than a deluxe).

I don't think at this point any CRO CM could tell you definitively that there will be no discounts (in reference to some other posts I've read). I think that's a decision made much above their pay grade and always subject to change depending on the bookings they are seeing. There may be a week or two here and there that they have a lot of reservations but in general if the hotels aren't full, Disney will discount in some way. I keep checking a lot of resorts and categories for our dates (Oct 28-Nov 4) and there is wide open availability for just about everything. Even though a lot of us have an emotional attachment to Disney, we have to realize they are a business. Also I could see CRO CM's being kept in the dark about discounts, perhaps being instructed to say there will be no discounts, or some of them coming up with that strategy on their own, as from other posts it seems their job performance depends on how much they book. It would not be to the Cm's advantage to say there will be a better deal in the future so call back - and they are people with jobs who have to look out for themselves. I think that's why we get different answers about the probablity of future discounts from CM's, they are chosing to handle the situation in different ways.

The number of discounts available at any given resort or room category will of course depend on how booked that specific resort or category is, so it could pay to be somewhat flexible.

All just my musings . . .

Good luck :)

I was told by 3 different CRO people that YES, there WILL be AP codes for room-only call in ressies. In the past, they've released them in early August.

I missed the new GBR online program because my 120 day mark had passed before they released the program. I'm waiting to book my first and last night room-only (CSR, AKL) so I'm hoping for good rates.

I was in the waiting game for general public codes this past May. When none came out, many people seemed to be convinced that there would never be public discounts again. But the fantastic free dining offer makes me hopeful that disney still sees the need to offer discounts to the public. So I'm really hoping for something next May. But at this point, I'm sure even the head of marketing couldn't tell you for sure whether there will be discounts next year.

I agree. It's a business decision, at some point Disney will decide: surplus of rooms = discounts, lots of bookings = less or no discounts.

January is a pretty slow time at WDW, other than around the marathons, I think there's a good chance for discounts. JMHO.

Thanks so much for the replies... :grouphug:

I am really hoping that like you said, since January is a slow time at Disney...there will be discounts. My balance has to be paid by the end of November. Hopefully we will know by then.

Got my fingers crossed and hoping... :cool1:

Let us all keep our fingers crossed!! I would love to save more money!
