I said that I was feeling bad because he'd done so well and I hadn't but decided to email him to congratulate him anyway. I set up a special email address so that he would know it was me when I emailed him if he remembered me. I checked the email address for a couple of days and then gave up. I decided to go ahead and check it again today and I got an email that he wrote last Monday...It said:
"Dear Becky,
It's so good to hear from you, and I've been thinking since your note
of all the fun we had in grade school together! And it's good to get
your news - how are classes going at VCU? Many congratulations on your
new boyfriend - who is he? I'll look forward very much to meeting
Bobby and Jessica. Are you in touch with anyone else from our old
class? It would be very nice to be able to have a class reunion of
sorts when many people are back for Christmas or some other such
holiday...
all warmest wishes,
Patrick"
Wasn't that a nice email
Even my mom (who didn't like him because he was kind of full of himself in High School) admitted that he sounded like a "real human being."
