Do you get work anniversary gifts?

we get a branded pin with a jewel for every 5 years. They increase the jewels up to 4, I think, before changing the jewel. Ruby, Emerald, maybe diamond. At 15 years they increase PTO by 2 days.

Every 5 years from a catalog. For 30, I got sapphire earrings, 35 I got a watch, 40 I got a Dooney & Bourke purse. 45 is coming up this summer, we'll see!

I'm an employer, we don't give out gifts.
It may be something worth considering starting, even if it's something relatively small since money is tough for a lot of companies right now. A small heartfelt gesture (not just a reusable water bottle) can go a long way in ensuring employees you want to keep stick around.

Maybe there's a local business in town that everyone goes to for lunch and you get gift cards. It doesn't cost you much but your employees will appreciate having lunch "on the company"

Well, we have a high number of turn overs…but those longtime employees we do have have company vehicles they can drive anytime, and gas cards they can use for that vehicle. Plus I do quarterly cash bonuses for the field guys as well as at Christmas, and once in a while we take groups of guys & significant others to LAS for industry things…I’m taking 10 employees & their wives to stay at Venetian for 4 nights while we go to a heavy equipment show. We pay for entire trip and no one is obligated to go if they don’t want to.
I get t-shirts twice a year, plus polos, jackets in the fall.
No one has asked to trade any of that for a pen or to pick anything out of a catalog!

That type of thing is part of our standard Employment Agreement, not gratuitous recognition for length of service.
Exactly my point. We get those because they are part of the union agreement. I work for the state, so things like employer sponsored gifts/parties are not a thing.

I got a pin and a certificate at 15 years, no gift booklet to choose a gift from. Oh and it was 2 years late…

Well now you didn't mention THAT in your first post! I think the benefits you provide there are much better than work anniversary gifts. Good on you! 👍
