Do you get to choose when you have your planning session?

DF and I are still considering a WDW wedding next summer. We are planning on going down there on a birthday trip in November. If we book our wedding now, can we schedule our in-person planning session for our birthday trip, or does Disney dictate when you have it?

it has to be within 6 months of your wedding... normally 4-6 months prior. depending on when you were looking to have your wedding, it may be possible, but it is also based upon your planners availability. i know the middle of november is really busy with weddings.

They generally require that you have it within 6 months from your wedding, because they can only lock you into prices 6 months before your wedding. You can basically choose when you want it anytine within that time frame, but it does have to be during the week because they are not open on weekends. However, if you can't make it, you can do a phone planning session.

You could meet with a consultant at that time who will take you around to the different venue options. That at least gives you an idea of what places look like.

We told them of two days we could meet and only gave them a month notice -- we went down this past May. They were able to accommodate us. But, it does have to be within the 6 months or they most likely won't meet with you. :thumbsup2

Our wedding is going to be July 1 next summer. My fiancee is military and the best time for us to go down together would be after Christmas around New Years. Do you think they might make an exception to the 6 month rule by a few days/a month because of these circumstances?

I'm sure they'd make an exception because of your situation but you probably wouldn't get your BEOs until after the 6 month mark because prices cannot be confirmed until that point. I've heard of brides having their planning sessions 8-9 months out but not getting a confirmed BEO until the 6-month mark.

Just curious because of our time in FL...we live in Washington dc....will they be open on labor day?
