I know Universal is smaller than WDW so I'm wondering if your feet get as exhausted there. I always get blisters on my feet when I go from park to park at WDW. Is Universal easier on the feet?

Well, maybe it's smaller, but my feet still ache when I'm in the parkall day. I miss those boats that took you across.

I've never gotten blisters. I've gotten sore feet. I used to wear some improperly-sized shoes and my feet used to hurt a lot. I bought some better shoes and things are OK.

Do you have bad shoes? Compare yours with the ones at www.badshoe.com :)

Something I found that helped us tremendously with the achy park feet syndrome is to prepare yourself ahead of time by walking. It's great exercise and helps get your legs and feet in shape for the unusual workouts they get in Orlando.

While at Universal Studios, keep an eye out for the machines they have where you sit down, put your feet on the metal pad, and insert (I think) 50 cents and it vibrates your feet. Boy, do those things feel good when your feet need some attention. Last I remember, they had some tucked away near BTTF and some in the restroom area over by Kong.

Does anyone know exactly where they are now and if they have any at IoA?

As for blisters, my oldest daughter tends to get them. The best thing I have found that works for her is wearing 2 pairs of socks. A thin inner and any normal outer. It keeps the friction off the feet themselves. We keep pre-cut moleskin pieces with us for any emergency that arises.

The feet massagers at USF are at the bathrooms by the Animal Planet show, in Amity, and I believe there are a set in San Franciso beside the old Kong building.

25 Cents, one is in front of The International Food & Film Festival, One next to the batroom around the corner, one off of DeLancey St. Tucked in that alley, one on Embarcadero at the restroom past Beetlejuice.

I have never seen one at IOA, they might be there, but I seriously doubt it because I know every inch of the park and I never ever seen one.

Those machines are called Footsie Wootsies! :teeth: I havent seen them in like 13-15 years!

I tell you what kills my feet....those bricks that pave the street along the lagoon on the New York side on the way to San Francisico. BUT it is fun to watch the kids in strollers go by on it...bouncing around, and most of them going "ahhhhhhhhhhh" with the vibrations!

I guess I am easily amused.

I usually buy new running shoes before my trip. They have more spring. I also bring two pair of shoes and alternate each day.

Boy, I visit the parks all the time and the only things I recognized here is 25 cents and Beetlejuice! LOL

I'm not much into street names and such, but if someone tells me it's in front of ET, then I know what the heck they mean! :jester:

I guess I'm just happy to be wherever I am! :)

Definitely start walking or spending more time on your feet before you visit. I have always heard that the worst thing to do before a theme park vacation is to buy new shoes, they need to be broken in somewhat before you arrive, unless you're lucky enough to get really good ones. You always see families in their new shoes, and they're usually carrying the shoes

And also, isn't happy hour designed to give your feet a rest??? ;) :)

I've seen them at Six Flags and Cedar Point. I don't think Universal calls them Footsie Wootsies. :)

I first saw them at a county fair back when I lived up north. They were called Footsie Wootsies then, so that's what I call them. ;)

The waiting area for the Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland used to have them too. They had some sort of themed name there though.
