We are getting ready for our 3rd trip, 2nd with our DD. Last time she was really big into the autographs. We got TONS of them. This time we are going to concentrate more on attractions and not standing in line to get an autograph. How many of you get a new autograph book and do the whole character thing everytime? Is once enough?

I usually just use the same book. I had been using the same one for years and years and finally had to get a new one on my last trip because I was affraid the other one would get broken if I took it (it's about 13 years old now!) and it's practically full. I would recogmend just sticking with the one you have for now.

My kids use the same one until they need a new one aka it gets full. Several of my kids are young enough that 5 signatures by the same character is way cool!

We re-used our autograph books and then found them collecting dust on the shelf. Last trip with my girls ages 6 & 8 we got lightly colored WDW souvineer hats - at MK and had them signed.

My 6yo picked out a fisherman type hat, white with minnie and my 8yo got a light tan baseball hat with a small mickey. We brought a couple sharpie markers with us and the characters the girls were interested in signed the hats. Since my kids are fair skinned this also served as a way to get them to wear a hat. I also saved lots of packing and searching for the book time as I just kept a sharpie in my pocket. The bonus is that now the girls still wear the hats fairly often. Next trip they are saving to do a visor as they are more cool now than hats!!

Even if you still do the autograph books you may find your kids more interested in rides and show than characters and may spend less time in line for them. We also plan a character meal or two for those must see characters during our off park gimes.

My girls use the same ones each trip until it's mostly used up. I do date each autograph in the bottom corner of the page. It's fun to look back at them.

It seems we are in the minority. We buy a new one for each trip. My kids have always liked to "sign" their own books and I find them a cute keepsake.

I heard recently from DS9 that next trip he won't be collecting any autographs.:( Growing up really quick. There is still hope that DS3 will still be interested for several years to come.

We buy a new one for each trip. My DS8 likes to differentiate between the different trips by the covers of the books. For example, the 2000 book had a special cover with the year on it.:wave2:

My DS 11 said same thing last trip, but when his sister was getting autographs at Crystal Palace he turned to me and said Where is my book?? I would bring it along, just in case. At character meals I make them get books signed at the table, just so we have a keepsake of who we've seen. We've used same book for 4 trips now.

My kids always get a new autograph book. We use the book as a memory book. One side has the character's signature and on the other side we put a picture of our family with the character.

BTW, I have a 15, 12, 9, and 9 who love getting the autographs (although they would never admit it to their friends).
