Do you find Borat funny?

Borat was always my favorite segment on Da Ali G Show, and when the movie came out, I thought it was hilarious!

I love goofy movies (my favorites are the Jackie Chan/Owen Wilson movies) and I expected to think Borat was hilarious. There were funny parts, but much of it was pretty tedious, IMO.

I hope I never, ever again have to see two ugly naked guys wrestling.

i work in a library - we got the Borat DVD in and i brought it home to watch (before we processed it) - DH and i laughed hysterical throughout! - when i returned it next day, gave it to the woman i work with to process - she never heard of it, asked what it was: documentary or comedy? - i said it was so funny, we laughed the whole time, it was a documentary of his experience across the USA - so she processed it as as documentary....

(mistake!!)

director then had it changed to "comedy"

I watched it the other day, and I think that I would have found it funnier in a theatre. I thought parts of it were funny, but I didn't LOL too often. I think it's one of those movies where the more people watching, the more fun it is.

One tends to wonder about that around here from time to time...

Like I said, I LOVED the movie, but, then again, I find myself longing for comedy films that aren't just the same tired, recycled Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell vehicles (though I have found both of those actors, especially Ferrell, quite funny in the past). The majority of Americans, I've found, don't agree with me, and would rather have their comedy spoonfed to them in safe, familiar, bite-sized chunks. (And that's also why I don't watch network sitcoms. Ever.)

I spent half of the movie laughing so hard and the other half with my hands covering my eyes in disbelief!

Exactly!! I just wish I hadn't ordered it at the Hard Rock with my 14yo son in the room!!

I didn't see it, only because I always find those kind of comedies not funny. I'm not a fan of that "sophmoric" kind of humor usually. I really have to be in the right mood for it.

I thought it was funny but not as funny as it was built up to be. There were a few places that I laughed out loud. Those were when he brought the baggie to the dinner table and asked "What do I do with this?" and when they were naked in the elevator and the convention. The jewish bed and breakfast was good too.

I expected NOT to like it because I am usually disappointed by movies that are hyped so much. However, I found it very funny.

He is so darn funny! I love just stupid funny. People take themselves way too serious. Sacha Cohen is one funny guy. He basically lived that character when he way plugging his show. Oh my God, when he goes to visit the Rich Southerners at their mansion, Goes to the Jewish couple's Bed and Breakfast, goes to the church, oh and let's not forget when Borat and Azamat decide to start wrestling, pure comedy genius!

Yes, saw it this weekend, and it was funny....I love the way he said Pamela's name, my DD is Pamelina, so I say it the way he says it, but add the lina on to it!

Not really. I actually expected to like it less than I did, so was pleasantly surprised, but overall it was boring, and way too long. There were a couple of funny parts. It reminded me of the ******* movies. Way too much time investment for so little payoff.
