I do agree with you, in theory, but I guess, since the ducks are already "tame" and used to people feeding them, and it will be next to impossible to get everyone to stop doing it, this could be one of those educational moments.

Edited to add... if your child wants to feed a wild animal, turn it around and make it a teachable moment explaining to them why that would be a bad thing, although it seems like a good thing.

Teach children what is and what is not healthy food, and definitely teach them to not be mean to the animals!
