Do You Fall Asleep with the TV On?

No but I can understand the appeal :)

Everynight, I can't sleep without it. One night we had a power outage and I tossed and turned all night.

I don't have a TV in my bedroom, but I sometimes will fall asleep on the couch if what I am watching is especially boring, LOL.

DH & I leave the tv on all night. I can fall asleep with normal volume....however when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can't fall back asleep unless its at the lowest possible volume (which usually annoys DH). We compromise w/the tv...he used to listen to the sports radio all night and I listened to the sound soother stuff. For some reason, I can sleep with tv, but can NOT sleep with the radio and the annoying sports talk people.

My husband cannot sleep without the tv. If we come home from somewhere the 1st thing he does is turn on the tv. We could come home at midnight and he turns it on. I turn on the weather channel, hit the sleep button for 15 minutes and I am usually asleep by then.

My sleep timer is my friend! I need the noise to go to sleep.

I do the same thing! Whenever the power goes out I cannot sleep at all. My husband always tells me how crazy I am since I sleep with the TV with on. I'm glad I'm not the only one:upsidedow

Me too. The sleep timer is a marriage-saver!

Always, I set the sleep timer right before I get in bed. If I wake up and it is off I set it again for about 30 minutes.

My wife does and it drives me batty. She'll fall right to sleep and I wind up watching whatever is on and being awake half the night!

Not me, but my Grandma cannot fall asleep without the tv on, and she has it set to go on in the a.m. as her "wake-up call".

I like falling asleep with the tv on, it turns my brain off. My boyfriend on the other hand, naggs soooooo much about the tv being on that any postive effects the soothing tv has are negated.

I never turn a tv off. I love having my tv on. I love the background noise.

I wish I could, but no. DH can and loves to watch TV in bed. This has been a subject of a few minor disagreements. No TV late at night, I would never fall asleep.

I cannot fall asleep without it. I guess it's because growing up we all had TVs in our rooms and we'd fall asleep with them on. I did just read somewhere that it was harmful to sleep with the glow from either a light or the TV because of a certain chemical that would be produced from the light and it could increase chances of a certain type of cancer. I forget the story exactly but if I find it I'll clarify.

Yep... I do... so much so that I have been sleeping on my couch since I got home from Disney a month ago because I had to re-route my cable to my desktop computer for while I was away.. the catsitter needed computer access and I was taking my laptop with me.. so.. I have been so busy (read LAZY) that I haven't re-routed it back to my bedroom.. hence.. the couch.. cause there is a tv in my living room.. and the mickey bed in my spare room is a tad too small for me! LOL!!! What we do for our addictions!
