Do you exercise regularly?

I workout 6 days a week two hours a day. I do weights and cardio.

Thanks for all your replies.
I've been exercising for a while now and I'm just not getting the results I was in the beginning, I think I'll try to increase the amt of time each day. Perhaps include some weights as well.

I posted a question about this a week or so ago, but it was late at night, and I don't remember seeing the thread the next morning.

Exercising is the bane of my existence. I absolutely hate it. So for the last 20+ years, I've gone in fits and starts and never have reached any type of weekly consistency. I think the longest I've been in a good exercise routine is about 9 months, and then something happens that throws off my routine and bam, I'm back to square one after months of donig nothing.

I'm in a "good" phase right now - weight training and cardio 3 days a week, and trying to increase that to 5. Anything more than that is probably unrealistic.

So, how do all you habitual exercisers stay motivated? Anyone else that hates it like I do, but has been able to stick with it? I've tried just about everything - aerobics, machines, running, walking, swimming, rollerblading and there's nothing that I like enough that I'd look forward to doing it.

I decided to get back into the habit when school started this Monday.

So far, I've worked out every morning -- 2 miles on the treadmill Monday and Tuesday, 2.5 miles today, plus weights.

I'm going to try to keep this up, especially since DH gets up at 5 to do his workout!!!

Yes! DW & I walk 2.5 miles 5 times/week, 5:30 am

I do an hour a day every other day on teh bike and rowing machine 30 minutes in teh AM and 30 in the PM.

Nope, in fact I just signed up for a $300 study where I CANNOT exercise. It's 12 weeks: first four weeks you do 3 workout sessions per week, second four weeks you do 1 workout session per week, final four weeks you do no workout sessions per week. It's a study to see the effects of whey protein and whether it slows down muscle loss when you reduce your workout load.

I don't have a car, so I walk/bike everywhere as it is and am on the go a lot, so I consider myself to be pretty active. I think that's enough for me at the moment. Once the study is done I'll try and go to the gym a few times a week but I can't stand going there. So many other things I'd rather be doing.

I am the same way! I've tried on and off for the past two years but just can't stick to anything regular. Other than the walking/biking I do getting to class, work, etc., there's nothing "extra" I really enjoy. I do like biking on trails, but not enough that I'd do it all the time. Maybe once a week. And forget the treadmills, stationary bikes, etc. I did those for a while and honestly can't think of anything MORE boring. I was in a healthy lifestyles class where we were REQUIRED to exercise and after 4 months I have to say I saw hardly any results; my resting heart rate hardly decreased, my weight dropped a few pounds, and my % body fat hardly changed (maybe a percentage or two). Not what I would have expected after four months of regular cardio and strength training.

Yep. I walk on the treadmill 30 minutes per day almost every day. I just started back up after surgery and it's so funny how when you take a month off it is hard to start back up. I am going to get back to an hour per day. Just a bit slow-going right now!

I workout 3 days a week. I do about an hour on something like 14 different machines total and some ab work on the mats, plus 30 minutes of cardio on a lifecycle. Been doing that for a little over a year now. Sometimes I'll miss a couple weeks when I go off to photograph an auto race and then spend a week of late nights working on the photos. I notice that if I don't work out for a while, I can get very depressed... I guess because I'm not getting the endorphin rushes of my workout. Kinda weird.

I seem to have strained my back a bit during my Monday workout, so I think I'll just do some cardio tonight...

I've taken a little break over the summer. When school starts back up, I'll be heading to the gym 4-5 times a week. Maybe less, if we start biking more. I usually spin, lift weights and use the elliptical.

I was exercising twice a week but my membership has run out and I'm currently not working so I can't afford to renew it right now.

Yes, 4-5 times a week I do 5 miles on the treadmill, half walking, half running. I also do some weights 2-3 times a week.

I do about 5-6 days per week. I usually slack off on Thursdays, because I work 12 hour shifts at night Monday through Thursday. Friday I sleep late, get up and go work out like crazy that night and Saturday morning, because I know I get my big fat greasy cheat dinner Saturday night, along with a couple of drinks. Sunday, it's back to the gym!

I do 2 days on 1 day off. Our gym has childcare (its like a resort) so I don't worry about DD3 if she comes and its also open late so I can go when she falls asleep..

I run 30 minutes a day every day.

I used to do nothing, so something is better than nothing, right?
