Do you ever use Traveler's Checks???

edited because i am evidently getting senile and didn't remember already posting on this thread :rotfl:

I always take around $300 in cash, $500 in TCs and at least two CCs.

We had our rental car stolen on one trip, of course with TCs safely tucked away in my suitcase in the trunk.

I called my credit union, they hooked me up with a travel agency 1 mile from DL, and without more than a couple of hours delay, we were on our way to see Mickey.

I try not to take more than the above in cash and TCs, just in case, though. ::yes::

(I also want to mention that I ended up cancelling all my CCs on that trip, just in case and American Express Fed Ex'd me a new card within 24 hours, and it was waiting for me when I got to my hotel in CHICAGO the next day.) AM EX ROCKS!!! :cool1:

If you are staying at a WDW resort hotel you can exchange some of your travelers cheques at the hotel and have the credit put on your room key.that way you can charge everything with out having to carry travelers cheques in the parks and just top it up as you go along.

Can you do that with cash too? Like give the front desk $1,000 cash when you check in and then be able to charge up to $1,000 to the room?
