Do you ever try to fool your gift receipient...

Oh, my boyfriend is sneaky!! Last year, when I came over to his house on my birthday, he told me he didn't have anything to put my gift in so he put it in his old Gamecube box. I said, "That's ok. I know you wouldn't actually get me a Gamecube!" (I was thinking too much $$) Well, I opened the box...and there sat a gamecube controller! He really did get me a used Gamecube, and I felt for it hook, line, and sinker.

It was my very first game console. :) My parents would never buy me one because they thought video games were a waste of money. hehe.

All your stories are hysterical!

my "evil" big brother decided he was going to thwart my gift guessing once and for all one christmas. he bought a gift certificate and then cut a piece of lead in the exact dimension of it. he taped the edges of the certificate to the lead bar and then wrapped it and put it under the tree. i could'nt even lift it (it was like 20#). i went nuts trying to figure out what it was!
LOL! Where the heck do you buy a piece of lead? :rotfl:

My DH got me.

I was pretty sure I was getting an Ipod for Christmas, as I'd been saying for months that I wanted one. He also made some offhand comments in conversations that lead me to thinking I was getting one. (He forgets that I have a very long memory)

However, this morning, there are two big boxes under the tree. I open the first and it's a Disney Shopping box. Okay, not what I thought, but still good. I cut the tape and there's a bunch of packing peanuts, with another box in it (another disney shopping box. Then I open that with its ton of peanuts and find an iPod in it!

He did the same with an accessory. Yes, we had that many disney shopping boxes in the house that he could stick with a theme!

We reuse old boxes all the time, so never assume that what it says on the outside is what you are getting or where it is from. We also use bigger boxes, add things to give weight, etc. Makes it more fun!

This is my first year to do the hiding the gifts idea. I think I did pretty good, will let ya know tomorrow :teeth:

Mine isn't quite along these lines of great stories, but I did fool my Mom yesterday! :teeth:

We had the first, and I'm sure, ONLY, grandkids portrait done. Ages from 1-18, therefore, probably the only. ;) Beautiful pic, framed it, included the rest of the package pics, BUT I taped the 'other people' pic, that comes with the frame, OVER the GK pic!! :rotfl: Seriously, she didn't notice the tape, and was perplexed at the Big Deal I made about Everyone being in the room to watch the 'opening'! :rotfl: She did say they were a nice looking family tho. Then we told her to remove those 'people'! :teeth:

Great ideas here! Thanks for sharing! :)
