Do you ever regret not traveling outside Disney more?

We arrived late to the Disney and DVC party. As an Army family, our kids traveled a great deal and lived in Germany during their junior high-high school years. They're now grown with families of their own.

We bought DVC sight-unseen in 2010, totally out of character for us and certainly something we wouldn't have done when the kids were younger and we had other financial goals to deal with- e.g. college, etc. No regrets with DVC! At this time of our lives it's a good fit for us....and our grandkids love it and their parents are happy to come along too!

We have been able to do both due to conservative living.

We prefer to have multiple trips a year, one Disney, a couple of non Disney to a large house, dining out, movies, or new car. Basically except on vacations we are very frugal.

Same here! In Dave Ramsey parlance, we "lived like no one else" for many years so that now we "live like no one else!."

With Disney resorts in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Paris that I've never been to, I can travel the world and go to Disney all in the same trip. :)

Oh yeah!
Great point! Paris is on my list of places to get to and when I do it will be Disney Paris.

We've owned DVC for 14 years now, so our adult children grew up with it too. We have travelled outside of Disney, through Disney with them a few times though. We've done the Disney Caribbean cruise and Hilton Head twice. While they were in high school though, they wanted to go back to Disney every year with no regrets !! :)

As college students, my son did the Disney College program and my daughter stayed in one of our home resorts on 2 trips with her friends.

DH and I have traded out for Sedona, AZ, Charleston Place, SC (when it was still in the Concierge Collection) and done the Caribbean cruise on the then new ship a few years ago.

We hope to get to Paris, Hawaii and make a couple of trades through RCI, now that there are more options, as well as give our kids their honeymoons when the times come.

All that being said, DH and I still get to Disney every year, and me for a long weekend with friends or cousins.

We miss it too much if we skip it, so we try not to!

We would probably have not gone to Hawaii if not for Aulani being a DVC property (thus, making it more affordable for us). It was our first DVC trip, and it was phenomenal. If you've never been, definitely make it a priority. :)
