This is the second time for me. I don't sleep enough there and get run down so by the end of my trip, I become sick....

Only sick with sadness that it's all over again for another year......

I am sorry you get ill, maybe you need to spend more time there to recover before you leave ;)

The only time for me was about ten years ago when I left with a brutal head cold because we went on the Kali River Rapids, got soaked, and couldn't get warmed up on a cool, overcast day.

Other than that, we have always paced ourselves. I see a lot of people push themselves to exhaustion. Taking time to just enjoy the atmosphere of the place is an important part of a vacation.

I picked up a real bad cold at the end of my last trip in Sept. On the last two days I left the parks early and was back at POP in bed, oh they have some good chicken soup there! It was hard on me since I am a transplant pt. and don't do well when sick...

Just about everytime we're there. Typically though, it's a cold which should come as no surprise. That many people, touching handrails all the time. . .breeding ground for sickness :)

Luckily, no..:thumbsup2 I've heard of lots of people getting stomach bugs there though..

Hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

One or more of us always comes home with a Disney cold (the best kind of cold you can get because you got it at Disney!). The first time it was DD#1 and DH - they also shared a lollipop while DD had a cold. The next time it was me, but I had been coming down with one before we left to go there. This last time, all four of us came back with colds.

Not sick, but injured. On our first trip (1991), I twisted my ankle on a dark stairway at CBR. Luckily it was our last night and we'd already done everything. I limped through two airports to get home and ended up in a cast for 3 weeks!:scared1:

I almost always come back from vacations with or starting a cold. I just attribute it to having more contact with people and places than normal.

In 2006 - I left for WDW sick, and just was ILL'n the entire trip. It stunk.

I had gotten an RX for a Z-Pack before we left, with a refill. It's a good thing I did. My husband ended up with the same chest infection I had.

I made the HUGE mistake of riding EE twice in a row the first day. Big mistake - huge. I was a dizzy icky mess that entire day. YUCK.

I never left though. Just spent more time in the room.

During my Honeymoon I got terribly ill. Started as a bad cold and ended up a sinus infection. It only knocked me down one day and we'd built a "rest" day in that day anyway. It did slow me down. I had no voice and was visibly feeling bad. The CM's were great. They brought me tea and offered to get me better tissues. The worst part was the flight home. It hurt soooo bad!

I always get sick on vacation - but it is from the airplane. Every time I fly I get a nasty cold, not sure why.

We stayed at AKL for it's Grand Opening and I got a really bad cold, probably the flu, and spent 2 days in bed. Yay - I put germs in the brand new room, lol.

I never have, knock on wood.

I know people that have though and I think it's a combination of things. More exposure to germs, not enough rest and not eating right.

Does having an emergency appendectomy the second day count?

I did go to epcot for CP about 48 hours later.

I have had only one time that I was so ill I did not think I was going to be able to fly home. I had a head cold. By the time I got home and to the drs. I had a double ear infection in both ears and a sinus infection. It was the sickest I ever remember being. I even asked to leave the parks on our last day there. That has to be almost sacreligious (in my mind).

There was also once were we sat outside the American Pavilion to watch the CP and I was eaten alive by mosquitos. I had 83 bites. The next day I needed a shot of epinephrine I had such a bad reaction.

But, other than that I use tons of Purell and lots of handwashing now. My kids think I am a freak. :)

Two years ago I went down after getting over bronchitis. The second day we were there it rained the entire day and night and it was cold. I was so wet I couldn't stop shaking. Needless to say I came home with pneumonia. The bronchitis I had before I left wasn't completely out of my system. I still had a great, although soggy, trip. I was miserable the rest of my winter though because it took two months to get completely over everything.

Well we are leaving tomm. and I am going there sick, so I know I will leave there sick too. I am having dh and ds push me in the wheelchair. I will walk when I can. The dr. didnt say I couldnt go and with 2 surgeries around the corner, I need to get my mind off it for a few days. Nothing like a little Disney magic to make you feel better!!:)

For all of those who got sick, hope you feel better fast.
