to have some alone time? My friend called today and asked what I was doing. I told her I was in my bedroom hiding from my 3 children. I was drinking my cup of coffee and eating a bagel. She thought this was hysterical. My husband was in the den so I knew if they needed something he was in the house.

Am I crazy for wanting to eat in peace? I also wanted to eat my whole bagel without sharing with my 20 month old.

ha :teeth: I know that feeling. You are not wrong. I feel the same way. Sometimes I get tired of sharing my food, answering questions and need some alone time. This happens for me even more so because I'm a stay at home mom.

I know exaclty how you feel! I have 4 children - 14, 12, 8 and 24 months! Sometimes I will close my bedroom door and eat a snack and read or take a bubble bath with a good book, while their father is home of course!

And anytime my 24 month old sees me eating anything, she comes up to me yelling, "bite, bite!" LOL!

Sometimes I just need some "me" time!

Hide and don't seek is really good for this. ;)

Add me to that list. My kids are 3 and 16mo and yes both of them beg for food. Some times, when I have had it with the questions, the labeling for the 25th time, the bear cha cha cha...I tell them that Mommy is on a time out.

My house is completely childproof...so I just go into the bathroom or my bedroom and hide. I put on a show for them...and I eat, file my nails, shower. I have tried to time it so that I eat my lunch while they are sleeping..but that doesnt usually work out.

I should go to the gym for a break. I used to do that, go to the gym for two hours with a friend and it was our time. But she quit on me, so I quit on me too. But yes, I hide from my kids too!

LOL I've been known to go out on the deck and not tell anyone!...DH and the kids are inside wondering where I am LOL I'm over here, just to the right of where you can see me looking out the slider!

I also put my office in the basement ON PURPOSE!!! The DD's have a play room down there, but for the most part when I need to work I'm ALONE....and like right now, I'm REALLY working :Pinkbounc

when I want to eat in peace, I also have to hide from my two dogs

YES!!!

As much as I love DS there are times when I just need a quick break. It makes me a much better Mommy! :)

I had to laugh when you mentioned food. I was just telling my Mom this afternoon that I would LOVE to eat all of my own food just once! It was something I always took for granted before - now it seems I am lucky if I get to eat at least half of something before DS "finds" me and asks for some! ;)

My favorite hiding place is in my van in the garage or out in the driveway in the sun. I've been known to read books, talk on the phone and take naps in my van. My kids are older so I don't have to worry about who is watching them. Sometimes I'll come home from work and nap in the van until they get off the bus 40 minutes later. Then I'm hiding from my lab who is more emotionally needy than the kids and has to be "velcro" dog right next to me.

Isn't a 24 month old a "2" year old? Just seems wierd to me to say a "24 month old" instead of a "2" year old!

I always hide when I can. I have a just turned one year old and a 3.5yr old. Both of my kids will want to eat if I have something. I had quick snack before my Curves workout today and DD comes into the kitchen. She starts cry for somthing also. I had to give her some goldfish. The other day she started to crawl up me while I ate dinner (rest of the family ate before me when I was not home)

I once crawled under the dining room table to have some alone time. I figured no one would look for me there. Of course DD did eventually find me and ended that. It's now become her favorite place to hid when we're playing:rolleyes: .

My mom was a bathroom reader when I was young. She could be in there for what seemed like an hour. I'm not so lucky I rarely get bathroom privacy.

LOL! And to think I felt so guilty when I would hide! At least now I know I'm not the only one!:wave2:

Hey, maybe we can go on a talk show.... "Moms who hide from their kids":duck:

I wonder if my dh ever hides under his desk at work...:scratchin

Or maybe a support group,

"Hello, my name is Raejean, and yes I hide from my children"

We could have meetings and share tips on hiding places!!

Hey, I've tried going out on the deck too. I was found though. I've closed myself in my closet. That's a good place, it takes awhile for everyone to figure it out. The dog usually gives me away.

DH always says, "Didn't you hear us calling you?" Well, ya of course I did. Didn't you notice the phone cord going into the closet?

Well, I'm glad to see Im not the only one.
Hi, my name is Tara and I hide in my bathroom

Yes - and she's 31... LOL:teeth:

I have to go over there today (she snagged me on the phone this morning) and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO cold....

I hide in our master bath, and on the back patio. I just disappear. That is usually good for 20 minutes or so. Just enough time to rejuvenate!
